Futubox

www.futubox.to. it cost me R106 for 87 channels most in HD and mostly sky channels, and it comes with plenty of sport. There is nimbletv for us tv, very expensive if you ask me. All this will need at least a 4meg connection for HD.

Where do you get 87 channels from? I have signed up for 30 days & only seem to get a total of 67 channels. If I select english, I only get 24 channels.

Am I doing something wrong?

Obviously you dont know how to count. When you download the playlist from their website, you get 87 channels which as of last week increased to 91.

Guys I have a friend who wants to sign up - but he is on a 1MB connection.

So is it safe to say he shouldn't bother as line speed is just too low?

Even with Netflix he will struggle with 1Meg. 2Meg minimum I say.

Thanks guys.

I tested with my 4mb line last night. Says I can only get SD quality is that true?

they say 5mbps is required for HD...you could get HD on 4mbps, but expect stuttering once in a while. 10mbps is ideal I suppose, I don't get any stutter, it just takes a minute to load the channel.

I did some testing last night. Seems to work just fine.
Now to get it into XBMC

Thanks. Will let you know how it goes. XBMC is running at the moment. Just for local media though. Hopefully by the end of the day I will have it sorted.

Guys how does XBMC know I am signed up to the Futubox website - is there something I must put in the XML file / EGP data?

I don't download a playlist, simply clicking on the channels button on their site.

Will see about "downloading" a playlist. thanks for the tip! - snotty bastid

A okay. That's making more sense now.

Will give it a try again form my account. Was using a different playlist

Sweet have it working through XBMC. Works like a charm. HD steaming well actually. Hardly any stuttering and also haven't played around with the settings. Might be able to get it to be better.

But so far I am impressed !!!

What ISP and package are you on??

Afrihost uncapped. 4mb. Able to download at almost 350kb/s constantly. So I think this helps with streaming.

Somethings missing, I used your webgrab folder, and ran fine, but my file is only 4MB - and doesn't seem to have much data?

Follow guide below:

EPG Data(Generated on Saturday 29 June)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4hamd3mm3elm9ka/epg.XML

How to generate EPG data.

To do this, I use two apps:

Webgrab+

XMLTV GUI

Grabbing with Webgrab+

I have setup the config files for webgrab+ already so you don’t I have to do any work but if you want to know how to setup the config, let me know and I will show you. It’s a long process though.

Download and install webgrab+ from here:

http://webgrabplus.com/

Download this file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gymz21hb4lgf0qy/WebGrab.rar

extract the file to C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\ (windows 8 only)

go to C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\webgrab\ and open the file “WebGrab++.config.xml”

Search for string

<filename>C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\WebGrab\thegui de.xml</filename> and change the location where you want the epg to be saved when generated. Example

<filename>C:\epg\theguide.xml</filename>

Save and run webgrab+plus.exe to generate the epg data.

Grabbing using XMLTV GUI

Download and install XMLTV GUI from here:

http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/xmltvgui_3.14.01W.exe

Run it and click on tools and select settings.

Set your time zone and location to save epg under the XML tab

Click on grabbers and select the UK_RT grabber

Under grabber details, select channels and choose all English channels on the Futubox playlist. And save.

Under grabbers still, select XMLTV Import and choose the file generated above with webgrab+plus.

Click on ok and go back to the main view.

Click on grab listings to start grabbing.

When done, import epg data generated into pvr:iptvsimple addon together with the modified playlist I created.

Exactly what I did (webgrab)... Trying again now. But it seemed to only download 10%
