You need at least a 5mbps connection to their servers, that means a 10mbps account in South Africa to watch HD in Futubox.
A 4mbps connection should be able to watch channels in SD. On my 2mbps Gold account I can't even do SD.
Do a speedtest to the different servers and select the fastest one in your account settings.

Is anyone having issues with Futubox on Afrihost, i have a 4mb uncapped account and cannot get futubox to work properly. Tonight i will try the afrihost 1gig account and see how that works
Yes, 10 mbps line with afrihost, cannot get a stable stream. I could some months back, but now, baaad, Cannot even get stable SD...
Hi I am on a 10 Mbit line with afrihost and mine works ratgher well on most channels also in HD. Do you stream to TV through a player?
Sorry to only catch onto this thread so late.
We'll need to get some solid test results and run the same on our side to really determine if this is a network issue, or related to user specific issues. I also already see some differing experiences posted in the thread.
Please drop me a detailed PM if you are experiencing this issue, and let's get this going as soon as we can![]()

Have our specialist team been in touch with you as yet?
I have a device running XBMC connected directly to the internet for the TV. Seems like it might just be an issue with my ISP account, speedtest is showing alarmingly slow results. Contacted Afrihost.
I had the service running through my WD Live SMP and could not get it to run smoothly when using Serviio. I bought a Smart TV and run it through DLNA and Serviio and it works much better. Might be worth seeing wether you can tweak your setup.
What speeds do you get when testing your Futubox Server?
No sir, nothing yet
Have just checked again with the guys. We're definitely not having international access issues that I'm aware of, but they should be able to recreate whatever you're experiencing here![]()
Again futubox is down?? I cannot watch any channels...
I'm using an Android enjoy TV 520 E. The streaming setup is done directly on there in XBMC, which is installed on the device. I have tried it using Wifi and a LAN connection. NTV stream seems a bit better now, but Futubox when streaming HD just doesnt stop stuttering.
The best I speed I got lately with the test was 3.5 mbps to server 2. I know it needs to be 5 for HD, but this is a 10 mbps line. I have done a couple of tests using speedtest lately as well and not getting over 4 mbps to any international location. So, this seems to clearly be an issue with my ISP...Paying for 10 mbps, getting 4 mbps. We will see when/if they get back to me, so far I was informed that they are not having issues, but they are looking into it.
How can it be your line if other sites are streaming fine ?
offsidestreams are *** and am not the only one complaining about the stream. I go to a non pay site and stream better there than on a paid site my line syncs on 7mb and am with Afrihost as well.
Maybe Afriman can check line issues but i doubt it very much , remember theses guys are signing up clients everyday and soon there will be degraded service because of the amount of people.
OSS streams fine when playing ads :wtf: but live games are always an issue.
the reason for ntv streaming fine is due to the quality of the stream being much lower. It is optimised for 2 mbps lines. Futubox however, is optmised for 5 mbps...aaand atm I am not even getting 5 mbps on my 10 mbps line
