Futubox

In short, Futubox is cheaper than NTV, but ntv has more channels, but only some HD channels. Ntv also seems more stable than futubox.

Thx LN

Seems NTV is the better choice then, which one do you recommend?

Well, It is personal preference I think. What you can do is try the Futubox 3 day package for 2.95 Euros, and see how it is. According to me, it lacks english content, which NTV has more of. I personally prefer NTV because they have a russian package you can choose as well, but I would like more HD content. NTV has a week trial I think that you can use to evaluate.

If you are only interested in watching sports, have a look at Offsidestreams, it is the cheapest out of all of them and also have some movie and series channels, but less channels than ntv.

Will this work in SA without Unotelly (or similar)? [-]Any idea of they stream the EPL?[/-]
Thanks

EDIT: seems like they do. At £4.49 seems like a good deal.
EDIT2: when trying to sign up it's £10.99 for 1 month :erm:

It works without Unotelly, and they show most EPL games yes, that is the reason I have it. I am paying 4.49 a month O_O.

One thing though, it automatically adds a recurring subscription, and cancelling could take a few days. Also, they have an HD counterpart for most of the sports channels, but it is very laggy for some reason.

Thanks for the reply. I saw £4.49 all over the place but when you start the sign-up (from the menu) process it takes you to streamtvbox.com/site/shop/ and displays "1 Month Recurring Subscription £10.99" maybe that's for 2 months in advance? The wording says otherwise though.

But on the homepage if you click on "Sign Up Now!" at the bottom you get the following:

At this time registrations are closed, we will be redirecting users to another site shortly

Odd... I'm quite keen though.

That is quite strange. I cannot access the site at the moment, but you can contact Daz to see if he can give you some clearance. They have a chat site, I don't know the URL but you can try to get there via google.

Ok, thanks.

Offsidestreams is now streamtvbox.com for new users.
Old users still pay the old price.
They closed registration for new users a few weeks ago to offer better stability. New users have to sign up with their new site and pay 10.99 Pounds. There are lots of new HD channels at the moment, see here for the channel list.

Interesting. and the old subscribers don't get these new channels?

I haven't noticed. could be because my add on has not updated. I will have a look.

Hey guys,

I've read pretty much the entire topic from page 1 till 35. I managed to get a 3 day trial with NTV on their ultimate package, as I have my money set on that. Will test it out over the weekend. Emailed Futubox too for a trial, still waiting to hear from them :)

By the way, I saw smokey_rsa mention that one can watch NTV / Futubox via DLNA using Serviio. I've been using Serviio to stream Twitch via DLNA on my tv, how would I go about in configuring Serviio to display the NTV / Futubox channels ? Currently I'm using a laptop via HDMI connected to my TV to watch the streams. I'll have a go at installing XBMC on the laptop as well in the next day or so to set it up for my 3 day trial with NTV :)

Any advice welcome for the serviio dlna streaming from pc to tv for NTV will be appreciated.

Well I can't sppe for NTV. On Futubox you can download a playlist wich contains the links that you then can enter into Serviio live streaming option. Seems that NTV only works with XBMC.

It worked for me but I gave up on Futubox once they removed the Sky channels.

Which sky channels are you referring to, because i still get all sky channels.

Think he's talking about the sport. They gone from the website - the streams still work (if you know what they are). Mine's an old playlist in XBMC so mine still work too.

Same here. The ideal way to watch futubox, for me of course is using the playlist with the pvr:iptvsimple addon. Find a screenshots of my setup below:

What's weird is server 2 has always been the fastest for me. Since mid December (I was away till 12 Jan so wouldn't know) it is now the worst and I have to use either server 1 or server 4 - which both suck and buffer and drop in SD. I know Telscum had a problem with that undersea cable but I tried both OpenWeb (IS) and Afrihost (MTN) with similar results.

Anyone else finding this ? What's going on?
