I bought the Wifi version while travelling and I am very happy. It is fast and responds really well. I am also glad that I decided to go with this version to get the S-pen, it is very useful and allows me to take notes much faster than I would by typing.

Argghh! The MTN Shop in Cape Gate has 3 in stock, but unfortunately the signal in my area is terrible. I hardly get 3G - most EDGE.

Vodacom has a much better signal and better LTE coverage, so I guess I'll have to wait until they get stock.

Does anyone know when that will be happening? :(

Finally got mine from mtn in pavilion. Unfortunately they only stocked the 16 gig. I bought a sandisk ultra 32gig class 10 card. Works ok so far. A bit disappointed i didn't get the 32gig. According to mtn , all stores only have the 16 gig. Ah well.... I took it on the lowest contract and it works out cheaper than buying it cash. Loving it so far. Screen is awesome.

I went to the obs MTN store and asked them if they had the Note 10.1 2014 and they looked at me funny

I think its 369 for 24 months. I had an issue with other mtns. Musgrave has stock but denied it at first. They kept trying to sell me the galaxy tab 3 saying it was the same thing. I ended up yelling at the staff and they said that there is stock in the back room. I told them to stuff it and went to pavilion.

They were really nice. Contract signed and activated in about half an hour. They didn't have a black tablet so the lady walked to the other mtn store downstairs. and got one for me. Really pleased with their service.

As for the other stores, they don't even know the tablet exists. Even the samsung store in gateway is useless. When you phone in they quote people different prices. My friends called in. Only after you tell them its expensive (they only had the p601 at R9999 which is their own pricing) , then they try to negotiate a price with you. They really rip of people.

It's advertised in their December Yello trader at R399pm for 1GB and R439 for 2GB.

I had to ask twice just to make sure and the woman behind the counter whipped out the book and pointed to it.

There is a 369 option, this is the LTE edition

The MTN store now has it. Checking reviews out now but there seems to be a lot of complaints about it being to slow / lag?

Anyone here with a screen protector?
Should I buy one? - just concerned that pen won't work that good.

S pen works fine with the protector on. I got the bodyglove screen protector (colour enhancer). I wanted the anti glare one but this is the only one I could find in store. The pen sticks a bit for the first day or so but after that its fine. Used it on sketch book and had no issues.

The pen is electromagnetic powered from coils under the screen. The screen itself is just a screen. All the feedback comes from the pen, including pressure intensity.Put a page on the screen and try to write.

I don't believe in screen protection. It distorts colour, makes finger swiping and typing slow, and a mission to clean.A decent cover with edge protection is essential

Geez.... 199 for a piece of plastic. Amazing how much profit they make off those. But its something we all need so i guess i have to fork out the cash

Here's my review so far. I'm really enjoying the tab so far. I have the 16gig LTE version in black. For me the real thing that sets this apart from the others is the s-pen.

If you're someone who likes taking down notes; drawing; even browsing the web and clicking on tiny buttons, no other tablet comes close to this with regards to stylus usage. If you're someone who loves sketching or needs this for notes, i strongly recommend it.

One other thing which sets this apart from other tablets is the fact that you can even make a phone call from it! ....Well for the cellular versions.

The camera is really good. An 8mp with a flash. Im unaware of other devices which have such camera specs (please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I love the fact that we have the option to add an SD card to increase storage space apart from using drop box. Its also easy to transfer stuff with the USB cable. Just drag and drop. Unlike my iPad where i needed iTunes to convert video and transfer things.

Here's my bit with performance of the device. We all know that people are going to compare this with the iPad so here goes...

I'm coming from an iPad 3 with iOS7. With regards to animations and transitions, I feel that there is a slight lag on the tablet when compared to the iPad. Not to say that the tablet is slow, most people are really dramatic when comparing this to an apple device. They make it sound unusable. I'm here to tell you to ignore that.

The tablet is really awesome and it does a lot more than my iPad 3 can.

You could actually get a lot of work done with a device like this. With regards to apps and games, i think apple takes this one. They have lots of exclusive stuff on their app store, some of which we eventually see ported to android.

Battery life is really good. I am a heavy user and don't need to charge it very often. To be honest, I'm really happy with my purchase. I Don't regret it at all.

Best thing to do for yourselves is read plenty of reviews and watch YouTube videos if you're unsure. Or just go to a store and use a display tablet for yourselves. Hope this helps!

Thanks for review.

How is PQ?
I am slightly worried about performance although most reviews I have read suggest that the lag is due to a software issues which should hopefully be resolved soon. The thing is a powerhouse spec wise.

I don't have a tablet currently. In my previous job I had access to a iPad 2 and 7" Galaxy Tab 2 and although they were fun in the beginning I soon got board of them. With the addition the S-Pen and maturity of the apps I think it may be worth revisiting although it is a lot of cash.
