Hi Forum,

I have an opportunity to get the Galaxy Note 10.1 or iPad 3 now. I am an android fanboi so im leaning towards the Note 10.1.

Whats got me hot and bothered is the Nexus 10, geezuz that is a machine, no 3G tho, why the **** would they do that. Same as the Transformer Infinity, why on earth make it wifi only??? If these had 3G it would be a no brainer.

Seems a lot of ppl out there with the Note 10.1 love it...

Galaxy Note 10.1 very nice ... but I would wait for the Nexus 10 imo! (Setup my phone for wifi hotspot - 3G issue resolved)

Tried the wifi hotspot on my SGS2 running JB rom, it said it switched on my I couldnt pick up the SSID on my laptop... Could just the rom mucking about...

Yeah, the Nexus 10 is one awesome piece of kit

I bought an Ipad 3 a few months ago; I can not speak for everyone but I expected far more.

Personally, I am selling it when the Nexus 10 hits SA and sticking with Android.

Stop being a girl subways and get a nexus 10 and use your phone as a hotspot :p

JB Roms on my Galaxy Note are too unstable with those type of functions, hence I remained on an ICS ROM

Since u said u are an android fan i suggest you wait for the Nexus 10 or import one and get a Vodafone R205 router which you can put in a micro sd and have additional storage for magazine or books, documents that what solution i am using for my iPad

Note 10.1 or Galaxy 10. Both look awesome!

I use my ipad 2 every day but i dislike iOS alot. so restrictive and k@k. Nexus 10 = stock android = best thing in the world ever ever ever

iPad 4 was apparently released for sale today, not in SA of course..

Why would you want a device without 3g?

If you like android get the samsung but both ipad and samsung should get the job done.

Surface is another one to consider but it's a bit early to tell if it is any good i guess.

3G isn't a necessity when you have a decent WiFi network to connect to and you're not planning on using your device outside that environment.

Surface is looking like an extremely viable option since you'll be able to run all your standard Office apps on it. There are, however, other Tablets coming out with Win 8, so I'd hang on a bit to see which ones perform best. Besides, let the early adopters suffer the bugs. ;)

I'm also an iPad fan, it's a great device. Either way I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above mentioned tablets.

While i agree, a company that releases a tablet without 3g is condemning people wifi. Many people travel, many people don't have access to wifi so why exclude it?

Perhaps some countries have wifi spots on every corner. Leaving out 3g is just plain stupid. They cannot know how many people use it for wifi only. You can be damn sure only wifi people will buy it :D.

I'd like, Galaxy Note 10.1. Almost everywhere has WIFI, so 3G seems not be necessary.

iPad 4 but considering you already using Android and are familiar with its strengths and weaknesses, stick to what you know.

Microsoft Surface looks great, I don't have much interest in tablets but am considering getting the Surface Pro when it is available.

With portable 3G modems it isn't really that much of a train smash. It probably works out cheaper to buy a WiFi version and connect to a 3G modem, anyway. I know it's not as convenient, but it is a solution.

I dig the surface pro as well, but I think the price or Microsoft's one was about R17000, perhaps the Samsung Ativ pro will be cheaper.
