Galaxy Note 2 - Below Cost!

Argh! Just got an sms that my phone will be delivered today.
The initial delivery date was within my study leave, so I put my home address as the delivery address.
Since the delivery date was brought forward, there is no body at home to sign for it!
Can't even change it to my work address. So frustrating, I want the phone:cry:
Oh well, will have to see when I get the call, maybe I can arrange it for tomorrow.

As for the titanium grey bit... Yeah. Came as a complete surprise to me. They told us in no uncertain terms that the only phones that were available we're the 32gb white ones.

Na no worries with Bfore. Completely understandable. The date was brought forward after I ordered and paid, so I couldn't change that.
I am not mad, just impatient hahaha.

Hopefully I'll get a titanium grey one as well!

I'm a bit hesitant to comment with MTN's tendency to surprise us all. Seems like all the phones that are being sent out are the titanium grey ones. We were told that they only had white, but now it seems they only have grey. :whistle:

MTN gave with a normal sim card although the phone only takes micro sim cards..?

Ah yes. As per my post on Carbonite:

As BFore were the first in SA to place orders with MTN for the Note 2 and they have only just realised they've sent out the wrong sims, you guys will probably all get the incorrect SIM.

We have been assured by MTN that you guys will all be sent microsims, free of charge, within a week.

As a short term solution, you are welcome to take your device to any MTN service centre or major MTN store, where they should have a sim cutter available to cut your sim to size. There are risks associated with this - usually a loss of data usage or SMS sending, but it is something you can try.

Of course, you could try cutting it to size yourself, but it is my professional duty to recommend that you don't do that ;) I'll use all my powers of telepathy in an effort to stop you, so don't do it! :D
 
I'm not impressed with RTT at all.
They are delivering the phones for mtn.
On the 24th I received an SMS saying that the phone will be delivered. I then arranged for someone to be at home, no one pitched.
I e-mailed Bfore asking for the tracking number and contact details. Richard replied and he was informed that the phone will be delivered before 5pm and provided the details I asked for.
Again, I arrange for someone to be home to accept the delivery and again no one pitched!
At 5:05 I called RTT and could not be helped because their customer care leaves at 5pm. Waiting for a call back tomorrow.

I'm happy to wait, I only expected it to come next week, but they should not SMS to say delivery would be made and not pitch. I did not get a call from anyone either.

I would have been home for the original delivery date, but obviously due to the change I now have to make alternative arrangements.

Bfore was great though, always replied to my mails timeously with reasonable answers to my queries. Its out of their hands and this is in no way a complaint of them.

...but I am so going to :cry: if it's not grey.
 
oh (sorry for double post), and is the phone provider locked? (i'm guessing not due to certain previous comments) I will be using a CellC SIM (the MTN will be a backup I guess ^_^)
 
hmm... Before I place my order... I just want to make sure: Can I give my RICA information after i've recieved the device?

You can. You'll need to email it to us and we will send it through to MTN corporate.

To my knowledge it's not locked. I don't believe the service providers are allowed to lock devices to their networks anymore.

MTN are apparently only sending out grey models, so I think you're in luck. :)

Also, I must apologise for your unreturned phone call. I took the matter up with Richard and he has informed me that it's the phone line that's the problem. They currently aren't able to receive incoming phone calls, so that's why he never received your call. The matter has been taken up with Telkom, so hopefully all will be resolved soon.

So sorry to hear that, droid. :( I do hope that they pull through today and that you have no further issues.

OK! My order has been placed :D Hehe, and I'm gonna buy my wife one this weekend (or tonight, depending on how impatient we are) aswell... I cant wait for my Note2!
