Hey guys

So I seem to be very hard on gaming peripherals, and because of that I need to replace my gaming headset. I currently have the G633 Artemis spectrum from Logitech.
The problem with them is that the flip up mic that mutes has gone a bit loose it seems. When the mic is fully in the down position there is no input from the mic, and if I play with it a bit and get it in the right position there is input and the mic works fine. Some times it makes a hissing or scratching noise, but then I slightly move it and its fine. Shaking my head a bit causes the mic to stop working. I don't have any expertise in soldering anything, so I can't fix it if its a loose connection.

So I am looking for the following features specifically :

If wireless : Decent battery life
if wired, very stable connection to the headset
RGB is nice but not required
Very good Mic, as I use this for Discord
Good sound
Comfortable to wear for very long.
Build quality among all else, they need to be sturdy and not have crappy loose connections that can go wrong.

I am currently looking at the Sennheiser GSP 600's, but would prefer to have a few options with personal recommendations

Thanks

Can't go wrong with Sennheiser.
I got the Game One and am very happy. The only issue was I had to upgrade my soundcard because of the impedance.

Using a Razer Kraken for a few months. To me that's as good as it gets, but I'm always surrounded by audiophiles who spend multiples more, so I won't even tell you about the cable extension etc.

Have had my Corsair Vengeance 1500 headphones for a while now and they've served me well. Only problem is that after a few years, the material of the part that sits on top of your head has started to flake off. Still, the sound quality is great (being Dolby 7.1 surround) & they are comfortable (with a complete over the ear fit).

I cannot stand the Razer headsets with the rounded earcups, I'd rather use speakers and a desktop mic than that XD

I had a look at the Steelseries Arctis 7 as well, but it seems like the Mic on that is not as great as the Sennheiser. Although I am quite liking that design. One problem with that is that the mic doesn't auto mute when pushed in, something I'n not able to confirm as no one in reviews cover that part.

I spent a lot of time watching HardwareCanuks reviews, because Dimitri is consistent and tests all aspects of everything, he basically recommended everything here, so I guess my list has been made up for me haha.

I bought the Arctis 7 a while ago, really enjoy it and its comfy. It was my first wireless purchase though after several wired headsets that always broke due to cable issues. ie: Razer Megalodon and HyperX Cloud II 7.1

Battery life isn't bad, and you can just charge it while you using it with a usb cable.

Can't complain about the mic either, although you may use it in a different capacity.

I would say the only issue is that you need to hold down a button for 3 seconds to turn it on, but otherwise its great. It also turns off automatically if no audio is detected for a period.

I actually just recieved the GSP 600's today. Damn are they nice XD I love the build quality, exactly what I was looking for, now I can't wait to test it when I get home

EDIT :
Probably alot more than you're willing to spend, but I'm waiting for the Audeze Mobius to hit our shores.

I actually had a look at the Audeze Mobius, they look prtty decent in terms of quality, but definitely not something I would buy, Im not a fan of open back headsets, and the mic would annoy me to no end. So they are pretty awesome, but not for me XD

Based on IGN: https://www.wootware.co.za/steelseries-arctis-7-black-wireless-virtual-7-1-gaming-headset.html
might be a good purchase instead, but you'll have to enquire stock. The white version goes for R2.5k
and they also recommend this over it: https://www.wootware.co.za/kingston-hyperx-cloud-revolver-s-gaming-headset.html
Again, a thousand rand saving. Takealot have it for R2.9k https://www.takealot.com/hyperx-cloud-revolver-s-gaming-headset-gun-metal/PLID46618495 but have stock.
Those steelseries must be awesome. I got a pair of wired headphones from steelseries and they are super comfortable and sounds great.

Congrats on the headset! I'm sure they will be fantastic, i am and avid fan of Sennheiser and i have yet to be disappointed, let us know how they sound!

So I tried them a bit last night, and every bit of doubt I had is completely gone, the GSP600's are fantastic! It's pretty much everything i look for in a headset. The sound is suberb, the mic is pretty much flawless after extensive testing and the comfort levels are quite something. They are a bit stiff at first, but I think it's just because my logitech's were so loose that these feel like its much stiffer. Even though they are stiff, they are comfortable as hell.

One thing that I do miss though, but that's a minor, is that it doesn't have a red LED showing the mic is muted, but that's definitely not the end of the world, as the mic also mutes when flipped up.

Overall, worth every cent, and there were many of them XD

Can recommend Sennheiser GSP 350's

Great for gaming, sound clear and no one ever complained about clarity from my side so mic also excellent. MMO player that raids for hours on end.

I played with them last night from about 4:30 to 1am this morning, they felt super comfortable all the time and I didn't have any issues.

I might not be the ultimate sound buff in the world, but to me they sounded fantastic!
