I realy want to know. What's the best gaming pc that I can build for about R10 000?

Cpu must be AMD and the mobo must at least be a B450, please not A320 that sucks.

Explore your options on pcpartpicker and optimise what is available here, or just go buy an xbox.

I'm willing to help you mix something together, for some commission ;)

Depends if you have a graphics card or not... Ryzen 5 3600 is probably your best although intel i3 9100f is probably better value

The reason I wont get an Xbox or Playstation is that there isn't any upgrade path

The i3 9100f is locked so I won't be able to OC if I wanted, and the Intel cpu's doesn't have decent stock coolers

I know the i5 11400f has a terrible stock cooler so upgraded to a Hyper 212 which is only around R 400 bucks. Never had issues with my i3 9100f although the OC is a good point

I doubt you could get a 2nd hand mid-range GPU for 10k. Let alone a whole PC.
Another +1 for the console.

Unless you can get a good deal on a used GPU, for that price you will probably have to get something with onboard graphics and wait a year or so for more sane GPU prices.

I'm an AMD fanboy, but the 11400 is worth a look. It at least allows running memory at the rated speed this generation.
Overclocking for performance isn't what it was, and especially on AMD the gains are minuscule. Rather save the money for a better GPU.

You're playing in a false economy. Rather save up and buy the PC you want. You'll be throwing money away by upgrading just about everything along the way. You will get peanuts for the parts you replace. Why even bother? The PS5 needs no upgrades if you're buying it for games, it's designed for them. Anyway, it's your 10k not mine. I'd not bother building a new PC for under R20k

If you're not interested in a Ryzen 4750g, then you're probably stuck with a Ryzen 3400g. Good luck finding one though, seems to be in high demand due to the cost of graphics cards...

Now is a terrible time for PC gaming enthusiasts. Not only is there shortages in chips and competition for GPUs from crypto miners... The parts stocks see to be super low in SA due to Covid in general. Monitors and everything really.
So everything is crazy expensive.

I'm just weathering this period myself - No upgrades for me :( You might be better served with a PS or second hand gaming PC deal if you're in a hurry.
I read that Takealot has some specials, which might be okay, but they always claim "Amazing" deals whether they are ho-hum or not.

Your 10K PC will be outdated within the next 2 years. PS4 was released 2013 and games still being released for it today.

*slight high jacking*

For about 10k for only cpu, mb and ram. One for Intel cpu and one for amd cpu.

I'm just curious what you could get. Thanks.

If you go AMD you can put together a base Ryzen 3X00 system for 10k and slam in a Ryzen 5X00 CPU and a better GPU later down the line. That's assuming that you could actually get the parts for the base system at a reasonable price...

Seriously people, a console is not a good substitute for a PC.
It's like telling a guy who can't get laid to rather try men. Sure, it might work for some people, but for others know what they want and don't want to deviate from that. They would rather spend a night with that Roseane Barr lookalike than with Brad Pitt.
