Gaming with new Afrihost ADSL uncapped 4mb

So, yesterday I bought my shiny new ADSL 4mb Uncapped from Afrihost (only shaped during business hours) and nearly uncapped my pants before I got home to test it out.

I'm a picky gamer when it comes to performance - I haven't had a lot of time testing out all my online games, but since moving from a 7 gig Axxess 4mb unshaped line, things don't look too bad. BF Bad Company 2 gave me a ping of 90-115... as opposed to my axxess line giving me 180-220+ some nights. However there are many factors that can affect results... :(

I plan to test out both lines and see which are giving me the best response. Has anyone else any idea how the uncapped lines are performing with regards to gaming? (Bad Company 2, L4D2/1, WoW, and others in general...)
 
Doing testing now is a bit pointless. The load on the networks will be chaning dramatically, constantly.

Initially, the networks should work well due to fewer subscribers (only a few days have passed). But then again, initially, people will hammer their connections to test this new uncapped thing out, to see how it performs. It's gonna be up down up down as new subscribers come online, hammer the connection, the novelty wearing off, more normal usage patterns prevailing...

I would only trust the results of any tests after about 2-3 months... if not longer...
 
Most IS based accounts aren't that nice for gaming... even the capped afrihost accounts lose in ping times to saix. My cybersmart acc performs really well, and I think so do Telkom and WA...
 
Anybody playing WOW on a 4 meg uncapped ?

I do play almost everyday after 6pm. I used to have capped 10gig from Afrihost and since i upgrade to uncapped account, wow is slower than the capped account. Average ping was about 250ms for capped and 450ms ++ to 800ms++ for uncapped. I was really disappointed and lag spikes now and then. I submit a ticket but all i get was nothing wrong with their network. Telkom is faster than the uncapped account so im using Telkom atm to play WoW.
 
wouldnt know, cant even log into BFBC2 at the moment, on afrihost 384 uncapped, had no problems when it was a capped account last month.
 
capped accounts have huge latency at the moment too. I've noticed that its at its worst between 7 and 10 at night. Kinda gay since afrihost had probably the best ping to EU servers before the 22nd of last month.
 
played BFBC2 for an hour or two, pings around 150-200, higher than normal, but still playable
