Need to enhance a very large garden quite a bit. Have a plan in mind. Any idea where to source pebbles, stepping stones, and general plants cheaply within the JHB areas?

Builders Express is quite cheap (down here).
Compost R25 a bag. Pebbles R50 a bag. Etc.
The gardening section is not bad. They nail you on the hardware though.

I recently had to acquire about 6 m^3 of pebbles and I got them fairly cheaply from a place called garden mecca here in Pretoria. They also deliver to Joburg, so i'd check them out. They basically sell bulk rock (for landscaping) for R750/cubic meter.

You can also buy pavers and other garden stuff from them, but i'm not sure how their prices compare to other.

Thanks, thats not badly priced. But their delivery to jhb costs almost as much as a cube of rock.

Pebbles per m3 or per ton - Try Gardenmecca in PTA or Plantyard near Modderfontein.

Hard Landscaping (stepping stones and other concrete items)- Definitely Glen Marais Nursery in Kempton. Although he is a smaller type nursery, he is about the cheapest on most concrete items.

General Plants - Between Glen Marais and Plant yard.
