Why is it that when conservatives feel threatened by somethng they dream upa conspiracy theory. Jews, satanists, new agers and now gays.

Contrary to popular belief christian values have not been around since the dawn of civilisation. And yes it is the monotheistic that seem to have a real problem with homosexuality. Other cultures may look down on homosexuality but few would go so far as to outlaw it.There are and have been many civilisations that have been bulit on very different value systems that have been far more enduring than those built on christian values.

Consider also that the roman empires decline actually began fairly soon after the adoption of christian values.

you know... it happens all the time in gay clubs even to the gay boys, and i believe you, its not a homophobe thing - its just plain cheap and damn disrespectful. That person... if found, deserves a hiding!

So back to the topic at hand - Elton John in his outfit for his wedding - what an aweful frock from such a brilliant musician! I don't see love there, just a HUGE GAY STATEMENT in that hiddious frock! Now there's exactly the reason why he's only second most influencial gay activist/celeb to Sir Ian McKellan - or should i say Elton would have made a awefully camp Gandalf the Grey, and we would indeed be worried about Frodo and his Rrrring! :D

Well for one im not for or against same-sex legal binding marriages but from the the point of view of religion, do they now have the right to marry in a church?

Constitutionally the church should have the right to decline even with this bill, or would that be unconstitutional?

Eitherway it doesnt bother me, but I would think that it would cause quite a stir.

Well in that case the question has to be asked - would they really be so desperate to follow a religion which frowns upon them with such contempt? My guess is they would much rather follow something more forgiving - i.e. something non-monotheistic, or perhaps even follow nothing at all.

quite a valid one, but as i'm not religous...

The Marriages will happen, with or without the Churches, so if they wish to decline then its entirely their problem. - would be interesting to see if the law will force churges to adopt this stance - and if the churges refuse, which queen will squeek first and file for discrimination! - it will happen!

Me - too much effort, and when you're single, and you meet Mr Gorgious at the bar, you say I DO a couple of times anyway! (and regret it the next morning 10-1)

Lol, you really think mr muscle is going to deter me from sticking my fingers into his eye socket? f@ck that funny ****, he will mess himself with a few fingers in his eye socket, I dont care how big you/he is. I have yet to meet the man who keeps his composure in this situation.

Edit,
And after he has been socket invaded he'll become a prostitute and tell his customers "Ill keep an eye out for you,"

Come see the rage!

:) oh we found one! So much rage because you can't seem to come to terms with your denial!!!...

No really - pulling your leg there - you might say you'll shove your fingers into his eye sockets but the truth of the matter is: Nobody stands still!!!, and you might say this now, but wait till you're really in such a situation, not only will you have had some of your fingers in his face, but he would have flatten you str8 back, his friends would no doubt help, or call the bouncer, or bounce you themselves. Gay people are not as weak as some may think!

In anyway - anybody str8 that has been out to a gay club/bar a good couple of times with their gay friends will no doubt have reported back saying they've had a damn good night out with no violence at all!

So If your butt gets pinched... YES its rude, take it for what its worth, then : turn around, find out who did it, get their hormones all worked up on empty promises let them buy the drinks and later find a way to slip away quietly and dump the sucker!. atleast the drinks were free! and he silly butt pinching queen would have paid for it without a fight!

If a gay guy buys you drinks, flapping his eyelids at you at the bar thinking he's gonna get lucky - it certainly doesnt spell marraige or make you gay - so...

I personally don't mind same-sex marrige, I just feel that same-sex couples shouldn't be allowed to adopt children out of respect for the kids, simply because it is obviouse that naturally you should have two different parents - and that society does not generally accept otherwise

basically I do not think that it is fair to a kid to make them grow up being that different from everyone else, I promise you two fathers/mothers would cause a huge stir in this day and age - and unless that kid is very strong willed it could be used against him/her

i hear what you say, and agree that it would be tough on a kid - but, given the choices, if you were a homeless kid, would you want to live your life waiting for the right couple to adopt you - which might not happen for some, and for those some a gay couple might come along and offer the same love and stability ? - if i was that kid i would take it.

As for the kid being bullied at school due to gay parants, who's to say that adopted kid isnt the bully himself? who's to say he won't be able to stand up for himself? I was openly gay at school and i was bullied, yes, but i eventually put one bully severely on his place, and all of them backed off. I was mostly respected at school after that - who's to say this child will not have it easier?

So - would there be a difference if the "Gay" Dad was single? or what if the Real father of the Son was Gay (single parant) - no difference at all, Yes?
