Gearbest.com - Any good?

Since its an Amazon order, Amazon has made provision for the import duties and sent it to Aramex. I was in contact with Aramex and they said they don't need anything from me. Aramex told me last week that Customs takes 2-3 business days xD
I've only had a bad experience with Gearbest and arramex. After paying customs to arramex they suddenly said the package is lost and that's that. I've also contacted them numerous times to get the customs money back but they just igonore me. Gearbest just told me they are sorry and it's not their responsilbility even though I've taken insurance. This was the first time buying from gearbest but I think it will also be my last.

Please PM me your order number. Normally, Aramex gives a letter of confirmation after investigation that the item has been confirmed as lost and once that is given, GearBest will then process a refund. It does take some time as GearBest needs confirmation first before their insurance can do anything to pay you back.
PM me all the details and I can try assist in getting this resolved. It is a hard situation as it is not common for something to get lost with Aramex but seen it high increase of issues in South Africa.
Ok just ordered a Meizu M6 Note from Tinydeal paying with Paypal, lets see how this works out and compare...
BTW the bank gives you a better currency conversion rate than paypal.
For shipping they claim,

Gearbest I'm sure sells the same phone and offers Dhl option which would probably work fine.
The reason people here are having issues is because they choose priority shipping which uses the main culprit ARAMEX
So it's going to be tough to actually see which one works better.
No Gearbest does not have any stock of any version of the phone (and have not for a long time) and they can't tell you anything about getting stock so scratch that idea.
Yes they can ship you a phone via dhl, tried xiaomi redmi 5 plus which is cheaper, but will charge you us$60 for the privilege...
So not really that tough to see which is gonna work out better.

Sorry didn't realise that! But yeah I guess DHL wouldn't have any issues except the cost being more... Hope the sort priority shipping out soon.

Give them a call just to remind them to send invoice for customs if any duties applicable.
They called - i gave them the invoice Gearbest provided me by email.
a few hours later i got an invoice from them which i paid - a few days later the package was delivered.
No fuss or problems

Any update? Mine is still in: customs clearance - In progress (4days now).
Didn't get a call from anyone yet.
I tried calling them asking for a customs clearance invoice. They told me that the package hasn't been released from customs yet and that's when they send the invoice...
I'm just hoping my package doesn't go missing this far down the process.
Order placed on 29th December BTW.
