Gearbest.com - Any good?

Okay, so my package went directly from hongkong to johannesburg in 24 hours. Hoping my second(first ordered) package follows as quickly.

I still cannot find the tracking or shipment number. Clicking on View Tracking Message yields: "Sorry, your shipping information has not updated yet!". I found a long ass number starting with a "W", I emailed that to the addresses your gave as well as another shorter number I found.

Probably phone covers or cables or small things with low value right? I have received an order like that before in 3 working days from Gearbest to my door here in Slummies. Aramex Priority Line bang for buck is amazing for those sort of orders!
 
Does Swedish packet registration use some courier service or goes straight to the post office?

a Quick question.
My parcel shipped out via Sweden post on the 22'nd Jan and according to the PostNord track and trace, the item has arrived at the country of destination. This was on the 24'th. Gearbest's site is still not updated with the same details.
My question is, once the item has landed, do I look on the Gearbest site for an updated tracking number, or do I now just sit and wait for the Post office to eventually get in touch?

The total value was $33 and I used the registered post option.

Post office do not get in touch unfortunately. They take up to a few weeks to show the package is locally and then a few more weeks for clearance and delivery. If you want to try track it, use the link below and add the tracking number to the end. If the site is up, you should see it in a few weeks. Airmail is one of the slowest shipping services.
 
I've found recently that one can use the international tracking number on sapo site. Before one would need to phone track and trace (wait a minimum of 10 minutes -- doesn't matter what time of day) give the international number and ask for local tracing number.

Thank for clarification! A friend of mine ordered a laptop from China and its coming via that... Wonder how much customs would be

Directly above the "View tracking message" the tracking number is listed. You can track using https://17track.net . I also get the same message on the gearbest website itself, but the number is trackable, and has been updated.
 
My latest Xiaomi order from Gearbest is really flying. Hit Dubai in the early hours of this morning and it has already been processed and put on a new plane to JHB. At this rate I will get it in under 10 days from despatch from Gearbest. Nice!

Mine took 9 days to get past our customs then Aramex sat with their fingers up their arses and only sent me the customs invoice yesterday.

Cool, will do. I'm actually itching to open them now, but I've got a bit of a production issue (only reason I'm online now is because I'm waiting for logs from the support team :) )

Pleasure. I am here to assist. It is the first time I am seeing the device and to be honest, the item is very decent for the price they are. So many new designs and a good decent processor for that price range is non existent in South Africa. Can't get a 1080p+ display 18:9 for R2500 anywhere. Good buy :)

I registered my card on the app but searched all over the app for a payment option but could not find it.

The only reason for adding a card is to pay for customs and clearance fees.

Ended up removing my card because there is no use of adding a card and not be able to make payments.

Would be very convenient though.

Maybe it changed because its been a while since I used the app.
