The smallest card that I still have is a 32MB from my original Canon, although it got upgraded to a massive 128MB.

I've found the generics aren't half bad, but you do have to keep a few stashed on your person at all times.

I could probably fit a jpg or two on that one...

Biggest I use are 32gb. More than ample for my needs since I usually shoot jpgs.
 
Any views on instant cameras? Wife wants one for the kids and I'm thinking of possibly getting it for mothers day.

Takealot gas a variety ranging from R1k up, brands being fujifilm and Polaroid.

Most importantly check which one uses the cheapest film but I think they all use the same Fujifilm instax film these days so it may not matter which camera you choose from that perspective.
 
Picked up a Gloxy GX-F990 to replace my dying 580EXII and have to say I'm pretty impressed. Not quite as powerful, with a guide number of 54m compared to 58m on the ExII, but still seems like it will be more than up to the task.

The Chinese flashes work well, colour temp seems spot on and typically have nice wireless capabilities. How does that brand compare to Yongnuo?

Yongnuo was one of the pioneers of cheap Chinese flash system's, they are amazing value and mine have worked flawlessly.

Canons current flagship flash is around or over R10k these days?
Good flashes but rather insane pricing

I think the canon's are R8-9k but yeah, they're flipping expensive. I've heard good things about the Yongnuos but the shop only had the Gloxy's and Godox . The godox use those battery packs but I've got so many AAs that the last thing I wanted was another proprietary battery charger to lug around.

I use Yongnuos for my Fujis and they're awesome. Side note though, I did buy the 'better' model, ie the one modeled on the Canon 600-EX, but those were fails. The manual ones I use are absolute workhorses. One ended up in the ocean briefly and still works flawlessly.

I currently have two YN560 III's and one YN660, and trigger them with the YN560TX.

I always carry a collection of clamps in my car (they're holding bits of it together :o) but that could be useful. We'll, maybe not so much in PE where it's almost always windy! :D

At the expense of their current customers sadly. The A7III launch is imminent and it will definitely give the 6D MKII a good beating, not too mention Nikon's updates, which is probably only due next year.

Yeah I know a good few Canon people who were waiting for the details of the 6D2. Videographers as well. Now with no 4K and no dual card slots they're probably going to look for 2nd hand Canon or switch systems.
