Generic batteries

I have one original and 2 generics, both generics having a 100mah higher rating, and performing better.
My gf's FZ50 also has a generic, and original, with the generic performing equally, or better.
If generics was so bad, manufacturers would not have started to plan proprietarating(lol?) batteries (google, panasonic).

I would buy generics, at R99, if it lasts a year, you still saved assloads, but Im confident, the chemicals inside is still just the same stuff :)

I wont use them in my cameras - especially the ones that are still under warranty.

Use a good brand Generic. Hahnel, Golden Power or the like. Notwithstanding there could be issues, even issues with original manufacturer batteries (as sony have shown in the past).

Sure but if there is a failure with a canon battery in my canon camera or my canon charger I know who I'm going to be talking to.

Care to elaborate? I want to sound rude, and say that's some unfounded horse feaces.... but ok. Why don't you guys all contact the factories, Hahnel, and then try to find the noname factory that builds the batteries for "brandname", and dare to compare...
I have used Hahnel generics forever, and it's never let me down.

thats how i'm thinking, its only R99, not a big deal really... R99 is much better in my eyes than +-R650

I think my D80 is long past its warranty date ???

I already did in my subsequent post.

But I don't need to try and find "noname factory" (are they possibly located next to the ACME Factory where Wile E. Coyote gets his gear from?) because my battery says Canon on it. ;)
