Thats quite cool. But remember it means you get locked into 24 months with them.

Do you understand the concept of discounts. And instalment sale with no interest charge.
That's the whole point. What is the problem with being locked in with the best bank in the country![]()
no you can pay it off early for the full price![]()
paid off my ipad last month, the current deals are not competitive anymore so I've decided not to get another device with them
Not competitive with... new store prices? I'm not sure what isn't competitive. The upfront price is the same as any other shop and if you can qualify for discounts that's cheaper than anyone else will offer.
Without the discounts, which I wouldn't qualify for, it is still relatively expensive. You need to make upwards of 20% annual growth on the money you keep by doing the payment in instalments for it to be comparable to other cheaper options. Not competitive with... new store prices? And apparently those discounts were a special offer, which doesn't run anymore.
Yes, once you factor in the mandatory monthly account fee the deal looks a lot less attractive. It's pretty obvious FNB's intent was to make their interest that way, otherwise they'd offer the devices to any client without dictating which fee option they choose.I would also say, you could potentially bank for free with FNB - however on these options there will be a monthly charge. Just saying, people should check everything out first.
Do you have a source for that?
They also should have the 15" Macbook Pro for people who don't want a laptop with a rinky-dink screen.I am looking forward to see what they will offer on the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina display. I want it all...
I did the online application for a secondary device via online banking, and was advised that it would take 10 working days for someone to contact me. This is a bit long, so I called in this morning to the relevant department, and the lady advised my that secondary devices are not allowed, so firstly we had an argument about it. It is pathetic that it is on their website but that staff are not aware of this as yet, she said that they received no communication.
Also, she said she can't see my application, I should wait for 5 - 10 working days, then only will it show on their system, and then only will they start the application process, so it probably ends up taking a month. That is pathetic. As a loyal FNB customer for a few years now, I am completely dissapointed. How can you do an online application for something and then only after 10 days does it show somewhere? Once you click save, does the data float in the cloud and once it rains down on earth some days later, only then find its way into an IT system?? I am seriously doubting the quality of the product if this is the quality of the service.
