Getting an Iphone tomorrow.....Help Please!

Hi Guys,

1st Time Iphone user

I purchased a secondhand Iphone 3G today but, i will only receive it tomorrow.
I know what the typical response will be(why didn't you get a 4G or even a 3GS) but
I got this at a bargain price

Just a few things i need to know:

The phone is jailbroken, unlocked and its on IOS4

1.Since it is secondhand, if i sync it with my Itunes would it restore itself back to original?
2.What is free after the phone being jailbroken?
3.Any tips or things to do before moving over all my stuff?
4.Any recommended or must have Apps?

1.In order to 'Vanilla' / unJailbreak an iPhone you must Restore it in iTunes then, perform an "Erase All Content and Settings" then, setup as 'New iPhone’ in iTunes.
Residual jailbreak files will be visible to the Genius Bar if you ONLY 'Restore.'
Restore it to factory setting then sync it with your computer and all apps will come back.

To Restore iPhone using the latest version of iTunes.
• Connect iPhone.
• When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab.

To Erase All Content and Settings:
• On iPhone, Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings
Note: This will delete all media and data. All settings will be reset as well.

4. news24, bodyfitness, fitness pro, ign, imdb, dstv guide, Layar, gumtree, privateproperty, RDP, Touchmouse, Ping, Aroundme, Documents 2, IRcamera
 
1. It will delete all the user preferences, photos, music everything but it won't update the software, unless you do that.
2. What you mean? There are free jailbreak apps, and paid ones. And there's piracy. That's free.
3. Get a US account - instructions on the tips/tricks page 1.
4. Too many to name!
 
Jailbreakme is great, it works on all devices, all OS'es and is quick & easy.
 
any free bluetooth apps for file transfers etc?
 
iBluenova, but you need cydia (jailbreak App), and it's still not free. You can pirate it if you try though.
 
i have Cydia but i cant find it in there.....anyway im looking for a free app? any sites you could recommend?
 
iBluenova is the only one to get so try get it. I don't have an iPhone anymore, but check out installous, appscene, crack sites like that.
 
Why do they make apps for webpages, I don't understand. Why there are apps for twitter and facebook and imdb etc, surely u can just goto the website on your iphone?

Yea, thought the same thing, even if I have the app I prefer visiting the site if they created a mobile version. The only apps that make sense are the ones with push notification.
