Getting better sleep

Do you snore? Could be apnea...
I had a colleague where I would be talking and he konks out for a few seconds and then continue the conversation like nothing happened. He would pause his mouse and after waking up continue moving his mouse. I never let him drive the rental car when we used to travel for business.

Somnil otc

10mg Zolpidem works for me always
Stocked although I stopped using them. I feel like these are great if getting to sleep is the issue, but they didn't do much for my early morning waking & next day tiredness. Also not too keen on long-term ambien use (I already had an odd experience waking to go to the toilet and thought the bathroom doors etc. were on the other side).

What do you dream about that you are still so tired when you wake up

Hmmmm. From what I can gather caffeine withdrawal. Will take around 4 to 6 months to normalize.

Don't get too dependent on CBD oil because then you will lose ability to achieve REM sleep naturally.

Possible sleep apnea.

Stop the magnesium supplement. Although it can assist in sleep it can also assist in energy release. Consider taking it on alternate days if you have to take it. Why are you taking a magnesium supplement?

Check VitD blood levels.

Are you on a multivitamin and which one does it contain ginseng?

Sleep in a cold room. Increase your shower heat at night to open up the pores causing a net heat loss. Body temperature must decrease to fall asleep.

Maintain a routine even on days off.

Keep well hydrated. 2 liters water a day non negotiable perhaps more depending on work and weather.

Do not take daytime naps.

Finally learn to sleep. Lol not a joke. You have to learn to relax your muscles. Start with the eyes the head and work down trying to relax the body and you will fall asleep.

All else fails seek medical attention. Possible underlying factors such as anxiety and/or stress.

This is assuming you comparing to recent sleep patterns and not how you used to sleep 10 years ago

Sleep issue for a few months, only stopped caffeine last week.

Doubt I'll keep using as the next day as effects just aren't worth it.

Taking it because it's been suggested for sleep. I don't take any supp. on a daily basis - sporadically or cycled. The magnesium at night doesn't really do much so I've started to drop it.

Check VitD blood levels.

Blood panel returned normal results incl D. No multivitamin or any supplements like ginseng or cns stimulants.

All those things already in place.

Possible underlying factors such as anxiety and/or stress.
I suspect it might be something like this. I had hernia mesh surgery a few years ago and my mom had similar. I think the genetic predisposition we share isn't some structural fault in the lining that weakens, but rather an affinity toward anxiety / holding on to some form of stress / tension that has knock-on effects on digestion and factors that contribute to specific kinds of hernias. That anxiety might well be affecting my sleep right now. Even just typing this I'm going to start including some form of mediation into my evenings.

Why stop magnesium? Isn't it the latest panacea?

Dont take things unnecessarily. Unless you have a proper medical condition. I myself only take the cheapest multivitamin once in a while not even daily. If you eating properly you shouldnt need any supplements and when I say eating properly I mean a variety of foods not having a super healthy perfect diet, although that would be nice.

Sleep issue for a few months, only stopped caffeine last week.

So when you were consuming caffeine. How much in a day and when was the latest you would have it ?

Have you taken your pulse recently ?

Also a fan of sleeping pills but don't you build up a resistance?
I dont take it often just when i know I need to sleep and get up early the next morning, puts you into a deep REM sleep and you wake up refreshed, I used the Stilnox Brand

I use the Stilnox brand, wake up refreshed, you dont remember the time you fell asleep but I get manage to wake up to my alarm I also make sure I time it, Like tonight I will take on around 8 or 08:30 as I have an early morning tomorrow and I need to get to the office around 6am. If I try to sleep naturally I cant my mind just wanders, I will end up watching youtube till 2 to 3am and I will be unproductive tomorrow

Getting up to piss a couple of times a night you said. You did check for diabetes?

On the upside, it is kinda nice to have the daily coffee habit out the way. Weird how no matter where I was I'd need to make a coffee mission in the morning. Cool to just be able to go about my morning now without that fix needing to be sorted. Don't think I'll go back to a daily coffee habit.

Yeah all clear on that front.

That's the stack I take some nights. Maybe try quercetin to help with your possible allergies 20221220_081149.jpg

Probably posted before

I also sleep a fan and usually have Timeline world history documentaries playing in the background (YouTube with adblock, trust me otherwise the ads might give you a heart attack lol it happened a few times to me etc

I’ve been drinking chamomile tea lately, sleep quality has improved a lot.

@saor since you’re always posting in the workout thread, I’m guessing you sweat a lot? If your electrolytes are out of whack, you can’t go into deep sleep. This one’s easy to diagnose, have a half a teaspoon (or a bit more) of salt in a glass of water and see if you sleep better? I don’t think it matters when you have it, if it’s in the morning it will ease some brain fog and still help you sleep at night because low sodium means lower blood pressure.

I remembered this yesterday when I was craving salty foods after my workout. Slept like a baby last night.

I won’t (can’t) spend money on one of those air conditioners for beds, but seeing how your core temperature affects sleep, has anybody tried those gel mattress toppers that carry heat away from your body? Do they actually work?

This heat wave :(
