Lost and Confused...
Hi guys

I have found my ancient Sansui Lifepad Etab 700. It's been ages since I used it last, I think it may have been with Noah on the Ark. But, I've forgotten my unlock pattern.

Here's what I've tried:
- Can't get ADB to 'see' it, think USB debugging mode may be off. (Side-note, the ADB device 'Cannot Start' when viewed through Device Manager)
- Can't get Lifesuite to install drivers on the PC
- Can't get into a recovery mode
- Don't get the option to unlock using the Google account details, possibly may not have my Google account loaded on it

I am happy to restore to factory settings, or any other options to make it work.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

Firstly, try entering an unlock pattern repeatedly. After a few attempts, you 'should' be prompted for your Google account details as an alternative.

If not, with the device turned off, hold down 'power' + 'volume+' buttons. This should get your device into 'recovery' mode, from where you can factory reset the device(this will delete all information stored on the device!).

Does your device have a hard reset button? Look around sides & back for a little recessed button...

Thanks for the feedback. There is no option to unlock using a Google account, it may not be setup on this device. Cannot access the Recovery Mode through that or any other key combination.

There is a Reset button. Pushing it just causes the device to restart, no data loss in any way.

If you power the unit down, then hold down power button, do you get a device option menu?

EDIT: I have used these steps on a few Sansui tablets - in case anyone else needs:

1. Turn tablet off. Hold down power button until 'Device Option' menu appears.

2. Select 'Power Off' then 'OK'

3. When tablet has switched off, hold the 'Reset' & 'Power' buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait for screen display, then press 'reset' button.

5. The 'system recovery' screen should appear.

6. Use 'Home' & 'Menu' buttons to navigate the menu.

7. Select the 'wipe data/factory reset' option & press 'Reset' button.

8. Then select 'Yes- delete all user data' & press 'Reset' button.

9. Press the 'Reset' button to reboot/restart tablet.

Sadly the above does not work on the Sansui lifepad etab 704 vp.

Just keeps showing the blank screen no matter how long you hold the buttons in for.

Goes to the pattern screen, lets you try a few times, Then asks you to wait 30 seconds to try again.

Any suggestions?

thank you in advance

Try holding down power and volume up buttons for 10 seconds, then press volume down button.
