Geyser timer solution for solar

They aren't that expensive, you need them to be relatively small to allow the water to warm quickly. 5m is roughly 400 bucks, the problem is coiling that.
I heard it’s easier to coil them if they full with water and sealed on the ends, then they don’t kink.

Maybe add this and some panels on roof facing north and connect direct to battery.

Would cost the same as pv setup solely for geyser but instead you can use extra solar for other things like charge battery.

either invest in 8kw+ and more panels or heat pump
Seeing money is an issue, I would keep it as is and add a victron mppt and as many panels that can fit in the little north facing roof space.

This is 555W.

So 3 of these and one victron = R5k.
Yeah,

There is also this. The options are there. Thi is what I have. They say its for a 150 litre geyser but with me being able to hit 70 by mid day with the wrong size element (I should use a 3kW to extract 30% of so more heating) it will definitely work on the 200 litre without issues. The hardware needed for the Charge controller and this is identical. Just when you do heat your geyse your panels are idling and doing nothing.

I would rather put that money towards mppt controller to charge battery.
