I don't think so.
Most disliked trailer in history, and the massive studio backlash against the fans - people are not going to forgive and forget.

I've watched a few youtube reviews and the feedback is fairly positive, averaging around 7/10. Weird. Might be bs but I guess I'll find out.

Because people are too scared of being vilified as misogynists if they post a bad review.

If you read the reviews most people that rate it positively because they think it will help women in movies, not because they think the movie is good.

So bad.

“Ghostbusters” is a horror from start to finish, and that’s not me saying it’s legitimately scary.

More like I was horrified by what was transpiring onscreen.

How could so many talented, well-meaning artists, who clearly loved and respected the original, produce such a raggedy-looking, thuddingly unfunny, utterly unnecessary reboot?

For months, controversy has swirled around the new “Ghostbusters” movie. The trailer was reportedly the most hated in YouTube history, for what that’s worth (or not worth), which led to some pundits saying some of that hate was rooted in sexism.

Others said the fact the Leslie Jones character wasn’t a scientist and seemed to have a role that called for her to play into stereotypes smacked of racism.

Of course, people were voicing these opinions without having seen the entire movie. Well, I have seen it — and while I believe the concerns about racial stereotypes were overblown, “Ghostbusters” is one of the worst movies of the year for multiple other reasons, including:
Bad acting.

Uninspired directing, editing, cinematography and music.

Cheesy special effects.

A forgettable villain.

A terrible script.

It won't though, possibly might even make it worse.

I have no problem with an all-female cast - if it is done as some sort of original IP. Taking a classic and butchering it just for the sake of gender equality, and then rubbing it in everyone's faces by constantly having a go at men, is not going to go down well.

The amount of political correctness on TV and the big screen these days is almost sickening. It seems like everyone must either be black, gay or a woman - bonus points if you can manage to merge the 3. And the sad thing is that going overboard with it actually works against the causes of these people...

Agreed. We've had many strong female leads before in movies and no one complained before because it wasn't forced. Kill Bill was awesome, Charlie's Angels enjoyable, Mad Max Fury road, Tomb Raider, Alien, and the list goes on and on. People even loved the new Star Wars with strong female lead. The sex of the cast was never the issue. It's because they're forcing it.

One of the reviewers made a good point. By making all the male characters in this idiots you're actually diminishing the accomplishment.

Strong female leads should just a normal thing. Not a statement.

Basically :

"Not as bad as some people want it to be but not as good as some people want it to be, it's kind of just is."
