Gmail POP3 Issues anyone?

Just seeing if it's an isolated case, but is anybody else having Gmail POP3 retrieval issues? I'm using Windows Live Mail on Win 7 & Mweb Uncapped 512.

It's been working fine for years and today 2 of the 3 accounts are giving issues.

What happens if you change over to IMAP?

Google is not perfect and they do have the occasional hiccup.

EDIT: Just did an advanced search for the last 24hrs and it seems their are some people have pop3 issues.

Thanks for the feedback ponder. I can't just swop over to IMAP as I'd have to sync my 5GB worth of emails in the process... not on my 512k line! lol

UPDATE: Thanks again ponder. That support link you gave worked like a charm, especially this bit:

If you're receiving 'Username and password not accepted' or 'invalid credentials' errors, or if you're repeatedly prompted to enter your username and password in your mail client, please visit https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha and try clearing the CAPTCHA.

If you're a Google Apps user, visit https://www.google.com/a/yourdomain.com/UnlockCaptcha. Be sure to replace [yourdomain.com] with your actual domain name.

This extra step is required when many logins have occurred within a short period of time.

Cool, so it was something minor.

I have regular problems with my imap and smtp connections where I get a message that the server is not recognised or doesn't exist, stuff like that. It's more than just a hiccup - there is some serious issue on Gmail servers.
