It seems the gobii people disabled the move to sd card option in the rom, one of the reasons why i want to root.
Hi Thor187, I found that I was able to save to my SD Card... when I put my SD card in, I went to check out the storage I have left on it, so when I was at the settings > storage I could change the default write disk to my SD card... I hope that helps you out?
Does the screen use gorilla glass?
Ok, so
1. I have made a backup of the ROM using SP Flash Tool
2. Created a CMW recovery image using MTKDroidTools
3. ..... don't have the courage yet to flash the new recovery image.
I think I am going to enjoy the phone for a few days before I possibly turn it into an ornament.
If anyone else is interested this is the way I have found to root this phone.

This method WILL void your warranty though, be warned.
As per my previous post for anyone else following this thread, another warning, DON"T be tempted to use Kingo to root your phone.
Search google for info about this tool. It's nasty.
Have you completed the root yet? Success? Can I safely proceed?
Yes it worked fine. Are you familiar with SP Flash Tool?
Not at all. Never rooted a phone before, but I can't deal with the limited memory for apps any more. Any special tips for me?
has anyone heard about the new smartphone from Amazon?

u can check it out on Amazon
looks very nice
sorry if im going off topic.
Anyone having problems with the microphone on this phone? Quite a few people I talk to using the Gobii complain that my voice is not very clear.![]()
I'm on MTN, no complaints from my clients.Anyone having problems with the microphone on this phone? Quite a few people I talk to using the Gobii complain that my voice is not very clear.![]()
Yes, find a friend with a bit of knowledge on the subject. Its not a simple job on this phone and if you don't really understand the process you can end up with a 'bricked' phone.
All I can suggest is use google and search for MT6582 clockworkmod, MTKDroidTools and SP Flash Tool. There are lots of forums and youtube videos.
Basically you need to replace the recovery partition on the phone with a CWM version to allow MTKDroidTools to work its magic.
Good luck
Which rom did you use? I have rooted my previous S2 but the guides are a bit more user friendly than the one you posted.
I have had a few requests for details on the rooting process so I will be posting a new thread on the prodedure. Please be patient as I am quite busy at work so it should be up in the next day or so.
@astrauss - havn't forgotten you.

Hello to any one considering this phone...
I GIVE IT A HUGE!!!!!! +1
Played around with a S4 and S5 for about 20 hours. Bought this phone based on Price tag vs. specs and wow! Honestly I enjoy it more than the Galaxy's . I really can't justify forking out the K needed for a brand new S4 or S5.
If your going the cash route then Gobii IVP definitely hands down.
The duel sim card is epic. And they weren't overstating when they make mention of the ability to use all the apps.
- my 2 cents
Note: I upgraded from a blackberryand the touch on this phone is amazing. Coupled with swift keyboard app typing is fluid fast and a since.
Mine work well, but I should add when I was in smaller areas with little coverage I experienced similar but was only briefly. In the City I don't have any issues thou
