Gobii IVP

Actually, the cover is very nice....
I'm a bit nervous to root. It was mentioned that possibly, with rooting, more apps can be installed.

I prefer not to trust a bit of double sided tape to keep a phone fixed to any cover, ever.

Rooting will allow you to i.a install more apps (manage your apps better).

Actually, the cover is very nice. It works, feels good, protects the phone & acts as a stand! As a 'freebie', it's great.
The only problem I have is the small amount of program storage area (internal storage). Also, the built in apps are a bit of a waste. Phone storage if fine, & I also have an SD card as well. Yes, you cane move some apps to phone storage, but itt does not really help!

The cover didn't stick properly to my mother's phone, so I used contact adhesive. Worked like a charm.

Bad design eksê.

Play store is there, just not shown by default. You can access it via Settings->Apps->All then click on the play store

Why Kalahari, why? Thx for this by the way. Went the 'download the apk route' before you posted. I just hope and pray the copy I got from XDA is clean and legit and that no nasties slipped in.

Anyhow. Does anyone know if the IVP supports OTG?

Dont think IVP supports OTG. I just gave it a try, but cannot find a 'use as storage' setting.

Not exactly the right thread but close enough. Seems like the Gobi ii is not available anymore @ Kalahari. Wondering if it is discontinued or just out of stock?

Going to be ordering one of these for my mom... Any reason not to or any better choices at the same price?
Going to be using one of the R250 vouchers (am I correct in believing you can only use one voucher at a time?) and one of the coupon codes to make it R949.

I also got one for my mom, it's been working great for her, I used it for the first week and had no complaints other than the camera in low light which was expected.

It's hasn't got a sensor to adjust the brightness automatically but you can just add a widget to change it easily if necessary. I thought this was going to be a pain but it really wasn't.

Regarding the vouchers, you can stack as many as you want it's only the discount codes that you can't.

Thanks, bought it about an 2 hours ago. I tried to stack 2 x R250 vouchers but it wouldn't let me... Only got R350 off but still a good deal.

Brilliant! What was the total cost you paid?
