@ Prankst3r - I felt the same difference between my 07 and 08 GTI. The shift points on my 07 seems to have adapted to my driving style, whereas my 08 shifts like a granny.
The power you making is very low. It should be at least 140+Kw Atw. Maybe your DV is blown. Take it to Hatfield and have Morne look at it.
Thanks for the advice man. My 08 definately shifts like a granny. Also, ive noticed that it shifts really quickly when driving slow. For instance, before i reach 80km/h, i'm already in 6th gear which means if i need more power, i really need to press, is that normal? What are the symptoms of a blown DV? Coz if I do press (and i mean pedal to the metal), it does have a slight kick but thats about it...
I wish i could take my car to Morne but unfortunately im in dbn![]()
I have never heard of any GTi that has issues with the DV. I highly doubt thats your problem. Start by getting the latest software loaded or even better, go load a trial of Revo or even GIAC.
Other common GTI problems :-
1. Diverter valve failure
2. PCV failure
3. Broken intake ducting
4. Cam lobe wear
5. High pressure fuel pump failure
6. Air conditioning does not work
7. Tumble flap failure
8. Cold start problems
9. Misfires
10. Low Fuel Pressure Sensor Failure
Still thats alot of common known issues compare that to the likes of a honda performance car and its extremeDoesnt mean it happens all the time to all GTI'S![]()

There's not a lot Type R's so honda won't have a lot of complaints LOL

Honda S2000 - only one I know of is diff issues - but that was fixed from AP2.
Not really a lot of issues considering it redlines at 9500rpm, and power comes from 6500+
I wasnt saying that cars dont break... What i'm saying is that all cars have known issues(common issues that everyone knows might occur in a certain model), but the list for this car seems longer than i'm used to.Honda's, Opels, Fords, VW's all have known mechanical issues. Cars unfortunetly do break. Depends on a whole lot of things though, Driving style, type of road surface car is driven on daily, etc.![]()
Whats the differerences between the AP1 and AP2?
