I'm just saying that the clutch was not really designed for that sort of power. Thus giving VW an excellent opportunity to refuse to honour the warranty.

Just have some cash put away safely for such an event, to be safe.:)

i hate sox63's voice of reason, i was also thinking of getting that "chip", but i'm thinking twice now :(
 
Agh man dont listen to sox.
Your clutch wont get stuffed, mines still fine after 3 years.

Kind of have to side with JK8 here :eek: although you will lose your warranty your clutch life will be dependent on how you drive. If you don't drive like a idiot your clutch will cope with the extra oomph.

i hardly ever drive fast.... so i think i might be ok.... :o
and if i do drive fast... i try not to burn or ride the clutch....
i just pop the clutch.. :D
 
What's this REVO=no warranty talk? VW won't even know that your car has a REVO/FRC/Chiplogic/GIAC map! Pay up and enjoy the power. I've had no clutch problems whatsoever.

BTW, Anyone got any recommendations for colour coding for the GTI (Side skirts and front lip) ?? I have the rear end done (bought it like that) and wanna complete it. tx
