Golf V GTi drivers

Damn bro. What did they say is wrong?
I have the ATP D/P. Yes it does remove the cat.

They dont know yet. They said they would call me today to advise on a way forward. The reset made no difference and software as well. I am stressing cos im on 59800 km but 1 month over for warranty! I just hope they make a plan for me.

Well All mods are on hold now till I get this sorted. Any idea what a new DSG Box might cost?

So its official, my Gearbox is poked! And the root cause of all my problems... Lets see what VW can do to fix it... New Box perhaps?

Thats hectic.. Hope it gets sorted out quick ;)
Did they say what caused this?

Is the warranty not for 5 years/ 100 000 KM's?

was this because of the mods? and does the mods void your warrenty?

Its still under warranty so they must replace the box.
This is one of the 1st Dsg failures Im hearing of, if it indeed is a failure.

they saying its out of warranty because it a 05 by a month..... It hasnt failed and I am still driving it, however, it jerks in the actual gears and when it changes, sometimes it fells like a snap change (hard) and other times like i have a slipping clutch and it varies on the gears. I can live with it, but I shouldnt have to....

Thats BS.
If it was registered in Dec 05, then it isnt Dec 08 yet.

Do your self a favour. Send it to Morne at Bryanston and let him have a look at it.
Im sure he can make a plan for you.

Registered Sept :( . I will take it past and see what he reckons... thanks for the help

Not sure if you went to the fourways branch close to fourways mall.
They are useless as i mentioned before.

Yeah I did. I must say the service is very good (well the guy who I deal with). I don't know about the technical expertise. Is that what you are referring to?

Referring to their technical expertise and customer service. Both were always bad. Technical expertise quite shocking. Maybe the guy you dealing with is an exception though.

I once serviced my car there and when i got the car back, the aircon wasnt working, the clutch wasnt working properly and a few other faults. This is one of the few reasons ill never take my car there.
Hatfield VW Bryanston FTW :)

Thanks for the heads up. If I dont have a solution from them, I will definately take it to Hatfield.

Its been booked in for tomorrow. They have received some software fix and tests to try to see if it resolves the issue. Anyone got a VAG-COM that can tell me what version of software i got now before it goes in tomorrow? Im worried they say they updated it and they do jacksh** and then turn around and say its outta warranty

The car's Automotion plan should cover the cost of the gearbox being fixed/replaced as the car is still under the 60,000km limit. If they don't want to replace it because it is expiring soon then give them hell (or extend it for another 30,000kms - it costs R12k to do so).

Just make sure the mileage doesn't go over 60,000kms!
