Golf V GTi drivers

Congrats on the "new" car G5GTI...
My car is std but strong compared to other std cars. (Not sure why)

Would be great to compare my stock car to your not so stock car. :)
I might just be tempted to go with FRC if you give me lightpoles ;)
 
Its hard to gauge cos mine is a 05 and Im up on the reef.. I spoke to another GTI'er and he reckons he got 228 down at the coast and 200 up here and when he upgraded to an 07 he ran 230 up here with the same mods... so....
I havent had a chance to run against anything yet, but I can say that it feels much stronger and sounds awesome... When i get a chance, I will take it for a dyno now that I have done my 300km.
 
Can i ask, what was the total cost of all your mods?

Your best bet would be to speak to FRC as I got a package deal which included some repair work so I dont have a break down. Do you have Pregga's number?
 
Guys I did a search in this forum and couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know where I can get those PDC/laser jammers installed? Sandton Sound & Security want R8000 for it! Is there no where else where I can find it cheaper?
 
Some where on the forum was a place that does Porch, Bentley, etc.. I'll see if I can find it.

I had a custom small number plate made for the front of my S2000 - strangely, I've only ever had one fine - from the back.

My Hilux is another story :(

Try Autostyle..... but be aware, jammers you go to jail.... detectors are ok...
 
yeah...things have gone quiet here... all the GTI drivers disappeared.. :D
 
A friend of mine ha a Polo GTi, has 30'000 on the clock. Car gave turbo issues recently, took it in two weeks ago to get sorted out. Took them a week to find out what was wrong. They replaced fuel pump, air mass meter and the injectors. Turned out something between this and the turbo was screwed, so they are replacing that now though. But no one at the garage could figure out what was wrong. They had to get a specialist from VWSA to take a look at the car....

Thats an interesting fault... havent heard of that happenning before...
VW's are generally quite reliable :)

Anyone on the waiting list for the g6 GTI here?

VWs usually are quite reliable. Just a pity so many people complain about their service these days.
G6? A little pricey... especially the GTi :(

Going to the launch next week.... or not,,, not sure yet.
But not on the list... maybe if theres 2 doors...
Scirrocco is next on my list!:)

Launch?? next week? where? i heard the launch was in june/july...

Im want to drive the Scirroco, and if they have a MK6 GTi then I wont say no!:D
