Golf V GTi drivers

you can only buy it from them. Your only other option is someone who bought it from a dealer and wants to sell.

I have the Euro spec Votex sides if you (maybe) interested ? :)

Thanks man, where are you located and how much do you want for the skirts? I'm in CT.

NP :) Im in Centurion. I paid R3k for the skirts, looking to sell for R2k. Brand new in box. If you interested, i'll send it with one of my trucks that delivers to CT.

ALFAHOLIC, dude, seriously, I mean really, com'on, why?

We've been through this. You like Alfas, I like Alfas. But why do you need to pollute an 87 page VW/GTI thread with your Alfa gospel. It's unnecessary, mate...

I'm simply stating my affinity for both VAG and Alfa...if you didn't like it you shoulda skipped it...now it haunts you while you sleep at night...:D

Anyway, cousin whent to an auction house in Sandton...an 07 GTi went for R120 000...is this even possible???

Oh, and enigma243...why do you get so upset, is it 'coz ze Alfa Monsters kill the poor Revo G5's??? LOL

Got to love the bumblebee yellow G5 GTI on the cover of Speed and Sound, best modified GTi in SA???

Arn't Alfa's notoriously unreliable?

You can always rely on them to break. Alfa styling can't be knocked though. Why is something always breaking in an alfa??

CaTcH21 that's not a bad price but I'm gonna stick with what I have thanks.

NP man, just no love for Votex sides from many people (in S.A)
Really does enhance the look of the ride cos every MKV including the .:R looks the same. Anyways ...

Yo - yes Alfa's are notorious for breaking, so are GTi Clutches, Tdi Turbo's, BMW AFM's etc.

Since I've owned my car only thing that went wrong was clutch, as you'd expect I was burning front rubber almost every weekend...

You really have to own one to really know whether its going to brake or not, only that ever brakes is the cambelt issue with dealers lying to customers as to whether it was done or not - like I said, personal taste. I used to hate the G5 GTi for what it was, EVERYWHERE, but then I uncle said I must take a drive in the thing, FRC fettled at that...man oh man was I hooked on the turbo power, the seats (not better than GTA seats though) and the lights when you open the car...joh!

Anyway Alfa FTW but GTi is close, voted best car for something I guess

CaTcH21 maybe you should post a pic of your ride and show them:D

I was at the dealer to check a trade in price and book value of my car and then I was blown away by the Scirroco. I could simply not choose a GTi over a Scirroco and I'm trying to figure out why VW would make another hatch for the same price that looks so much better and is quicker stock. GTi is supposed to be their poster boy hatch.

I think Scirroco will eventually surpass the poster boy hatch GTI :p Hot little car - and there are some stunning body mods.

For sure. At Claremont VW last month they said their weren't any Scirroccos available and that there was a waiting list. Once there are more on the road for people to see every GTi driver who hasn't seen it in person will want one.

I traded my GTI In for an ALFA 159 2.4 and I must say I love the car! I cannot fault it... and its been nicknamed SOW (sex on wheels) by the ladies at my work... hehehe - sexier you won't find

Can't argue about the sexy italian styling on alfas. That's what Italians do best.

They just need to fix the bloody mechanical side but then again it wont be an alfa. Lovely cars but not something you recommend a friend to buy.

Its Catch22. You should only buy an Alfa if you can afford some really expensive repairs. But if you could afford that you might as well buy a a better non-Alfa car. Unless you just love the look of Alfas. Which is why most Alfa drivers are so Alfa mad.

Sensorei...Alfa drivers dont just like the car for the looks mate..lol...

Have you actually owned one?If I had money for a G5 GTI I'd want to cop it, take it for a test drive and enjoy it, but then I'll go to an Alfa Dealer/stealer, and get in a 3.2 GT...and then I'll completely forget and ask for forgiveness for even considering the G5...Ill have to go home and wash my bum because I sat in the G5 seats lol.

G5GTI05 welcome the the Alfisti brigade...

check out this forum, very active and lots of SA guys!
