Hi Guys my fibre is being installed and I am looking for a good gaming router that can handle heavy and do QOS everyone so far recommends the Asus RT-AC5300 but it is on the very expensive side anyone have any other recommendations or at least motivate why this is worth its price ( Cheapest I could find so far is R5243)

Well in the 4k range max would be nice I am in a townhouse so wifi doesn't need to have massive range but should be able to take traffic from 3laptops 2ps4's and other handheld gaming devices without much issue. ( I am getting a 100MB line so don't worry about that part)

Well sometimes especially with updates all devices will be doing the same thing at the same time half is cabled and half is on wifi main thing is I don't want issues when playing online and everyone else is on YouTube or whatever else.

Then you can limit the amount of bandwidth for other devices.

If you got that many devices consider a proxy cache, pfsense can do that, qos and much more.

Mikrotik and Ubiquiti are other options as well.

Mikrotik you need a bit of expertise setting up, but very powerful.
Ubiquiti Edgemax is both easy to setup and power for under R1000... get wifi seperately, like the Unifi Pro :P

Can't go wrong with either of the two brands. Solid devices.
