First of all let me say, I have been a loyal user of Vodacom for the last +-8 years. I never ever used to have much problems if any with them.

As a lot of you know, I started to having connection problems with them a couple of months ago. I must be honest they did attempt to solve my problem. However it seems to boil down to the fact that its a problem in my area.

So I tried Virgin Mobile, well that lasted for about 2 days. I won't even go there.

However I decided to try MTN and all I can say in my area the signal strength is fantastic and at least I still have 3G/Edge etc. Now all I have to do is port my old Vodacom number to MTN.

So goodbye Vodacom and hello MTN!

Welcome brother:)

If Vodascum will allow. I have heard that porting your number is no easy task. Best of luck to you.

Well all that I can say is that I am impressed. My application was done at 15:30 this afternoon and I was told it would take 48 hours. This evening at 22:30 it is already done.

Wow that is excellent service,:D

Hi
Make sure you perform a few tests to make sure its all ok.

Test calls from MTN/Vodacom/Cell C/ Telkom to your number
Test SMS to/from Vodacom/Cellc/MTN

Sometimes you might encounter issues where you cant only sms to Vodacom etc.

Conduct these tests and let me know if there are any issues and I will resolve it for you

Regards

Hmmm looks like my time with Vodacom is also coming to and end. The constant crap signal and constant call dropping is making me mad

You telling me, you prepaid or contract?

Contract but my contract has been up for renewal since March. I have been with Vodascum since they started.

Good luck with it. I was with Vodacom for about the last 7 years on prepaid. To be honest I always supported the company and praised them.

However when the signal problems started in my area (it is a new thing) eventually they basically led me to believe that there is nothing they can do.

So because of that, I moved over to MTN. Although I must admit in the house, MTN's signal is excellent in both strength and quality.
