Google’s Chrome browser a hit

Decided to give it a go and initially I am really impressed with it.

Seems to run and launch pages quicker than FF3 and I love the way it takes up the whole screen.
Much less work on the mouse wheel when scrolling up and down a page, especially here.

Really like the tab feature that has your most visited sites there waiting for you when you open a new one.
Another thing about the tabs is the little "+" sign to open a new tab.
I could never grasp why FF had never that implemented.

At the office I'm bound to IE7 and opening a new tab was the only pleasure I enjoyed and missed when getting home to FF2 and later FF3.
It's always been problematic in FF3 when wanting to open a lot of tabs and having to right-click to get another tab going.
The double-clicking in FF to open a tab, is also a lame IMO.
The one touch "+" sign makes browsing that little bit faster.

So off the bat, liking - too soon to say loving Chrome, but its certainly got my attention.

And my words had not even set in their virtual ink as I was previewing my post when:

I decided to make some changes to my post and when double-clicking on a word to cut and paste it; It would highlight the word I'd chosen, then I right-click to get the option to "cut" and as soon as I'd clicked that option, it would select a word towards the bottom of my text and "cut" that!
Tried it another two times on the same word and the same result.
Tried it with other random words in the post and the same problem.

Anyone else having this kind of issue?

My spellcheck on Chrome stopped working :(:(
It underlines the word but I cannot find a way to correct the incorrect spelling

Just messed around with incorrect spelling to check it out.
The word which is spelled incorrectly is underlined and right-clicking on it gives options of words which would be suitable.

Eish, just picked up on something I really miss from FF3.
That being one of the apps: CoolIris Preview.
I really like using it when browsing forums and it's now being missed.
Hopefully they'll produce something like it for Chrome as well.

... bit of a thread bump ...

I've been using Chrome for about 90% of browsing in the last 2 weeks and it seriously rocks! I just had to share.

I've been splitting it about 50/50 at home.

Still love the whole monitor being taken up by the browser.
The bookmarks and tabs should be looked at though - well a few personal glitches anyway.

FF 3.1 Beta just down - going to give it a bash.

And why are there no apps yet for Chrome?
Or am I missing something?

I use Chrome mainly to put desktop shortcuts to web apps on the Desktop and then I use their special mode to run the web apps in. That way I can just double click to get into Gmail and it gives me maximum screen real estate.

I still use Firefox for most of my browsing though. I like Mcafee Siteadvisor and NoScript from a security stand point. If Chrome gets addon support that does not slow it down or make it unstable and these addons get ported to it I will use it 100% of the time...
