Have anyone bothered reading the EULA?
In other words, they own everything you publish online.

Yes, it's a major issue and has been headline news on some tech sites; Google has already responded:

Google's Rebecca Ward, Senior Product Counsel for Google Chrome, now tells Ars Technica that the company tries to reuse these licenses as much as possible, "in order to keep things simple for our users." Ward admits that sometimes "this means that the legal terms for a specific product may include terms that don't apply well to the use of that product" and says that Google is "working quickly to remove language from Section 11 of the current Google Chrome terms of service. This change will apply retroactively to all users who have downloaded Google Chrome."

It's worth noting that the EULA is largely unenforceable because the source code of Chrome is distributed under an open license. Users could simply download the source code, compile it themselves, and use it without having to agree to Google's EULA.

Tried it yesterday. Very neat and fast.

Hit a brick wall on a site that required a plugin, and Chrome couldn't find the plugin. Didn't have that problem on FF3.

Still not sure whether there is a compelling reason to use it in preference to FF. Time will tell.

Looks like Google's going for world domination :D

I kinda like it, but I think I'll wait until they've fixed the glitches before I leave my trusted Firefox ...

It seems to free memory quicker than Firefox too. Open the same tabs in each then close all but one tab. Chrome frees the memory up quicker. It is only BETA though so it will take time but it is a pretty good BETA IMO :)

So let me get this straight, apparently Chrome gives you your most visited websites as a home page? WTF! I don't want my fav pornsites apearing when someone else uses my PC for some reason and opens my browser!!!

Can one disable it?

Well you can set what you want the home page to be instead of it opening up the tab with the favourite sites on it. Then you set it to open up the homepage when you start it up and that should work? Set the homepage to www.google.com or something and that's what people should see when they open the browser?

I tried it and subsequently uninstalled it. I found its minimalism good, the reporting capabilities are very good for those trying to debug issues with their website but for general browsing it fails not having AdBlock and Flashgot. I had forgotten how ugly the advertised web was.

Firewalls that can block adds FTW. My firewall handles it regardless of the browser, so fortunately that issue never came up.

That said , i'm back on FF too, too many stuff i need. I'm actually quite "hooked" on the Google Toolbar , especally my Bookmarks [which is now online], google calendar which shows everything nicely on the toolbar and gmail also checking mail right there. For some reason Google didn't think their own browser should hook into their very own online APIs *boggle*.

Yes i can make little "Web applications" of every of those and have the windows float around all over, but that's just waste of resources .

No, they changed their EULA.

If you had bothered to read the article at the link, you would have noticed that the question to which you have just replied was in fact just the title of the article; the answer of which was not only covered by said article, but also in my post itself...

Perhaps you should think first, before posting something on forums like these.

'tis for this exact reason that they have 'incognito' mode...

It's an open source browser, the add-ons will come as people develop them.
In the meantime, if want to block the ads in Google Chrome, follow these steps.

I installed it, played with it for about 5 minutes then uninstalled it because it was messing up my fonts so badly I couldn't read my bookmarks. Now my computer wont shut down, I have to pull the plug because nothing else works, and when it does start up the installer tries to run itself again. Is anyone else having issues? I regret ever trying it now.

People should rather think about killing the Google monopoly. A mainstream browser owned by Google can't be good. I mean what's wrong with Firefox?

Drive-by troll? The browser is open source so it is only owned by Google in a very loose sense of the word. Never mind the fact that the core tech is based on existing open source projects that other browsers are already using.
