So I asked a German I work with when he is going on leave (He is loaded and has a pub in Germany. We always give each other shait). He told me on 21 Dec. So I said he must give me a Christmas gift ... this how the convo went ...
German: So what you want?
Me: A Google Nexus 5
German: Sure I buy for you
Me: But it's expensive. You earn too much
German: Waaaah ... I work here for hobby. Just write spec for phone I get for you
Me: <just laughs>
German: But I bring only on 10 January. Late Christmas gift
Me: <laughs a lil more>
German: You my friend, just write spec
He left the room
:D

The actual cost of getting the phone here has been a little more than I expected. The bank took their pound of flesh in the international transaction, the international postage and clearing was a couple hundred bucks (I insured the package which added about R200 but worth it if you ask me) and now we wait and see how badly customs will rape me.

If I do order some more (only after mine arrives safely) it wouldn't be for profit. I just want to cover my costs and help out. The dam Google account system kicked me out a few times, but I think I finally have it fooled!

Oh, I should add that you can get the US version slightly cheaper. I was tempted, but I figure that if I'm forking out a couple gorilla's I might as well get an LTE compatible version.

Pretty much the same for me. But I'll only know once mine arrives.

Out of interest, If I can get a couple international version N5's would anyone be interested? I would guess the price would be around R6000 for a 32GB, and about R5000 for a 16GB.

I might also be interested. Will see when I get mine if my wife likes it - if she does then I'll probably get one for her too.

Getting mine next week Friday.

So, Google have cancelled my order for the third time :crying: Rather tired of this nonsense.

EDIT: I'm starting to suspect that the problem could be with the way PostBox Courier asks you to state the address, and Google Wallet doesn't seem to like it.

To those that successfully received yours- which mail forwarders did you use?

I used Postbox, but then again its is two weeks ago. I think it has something to do with the non-US issued c/card. When did you place your order? I have placed an order using the Shipitto address which looks normal. I also used a working phone number. So far its holding, but it could be because I placed my order 2 days ago. Either way I will let you know how it goes.

Its your card. You need an America card, with matching American billing address.

Mine worked with a South African (Visa, ABSA bank) card, using a (real) US address for both billing and shipping, ordered via proxy, with a Google account created using the same proxy (i.e. spoofing US address for everything).

I dont be seem to get LTE here? Or am I not suppose to

Which operator?

Are you in a good coverage area for it?

Not too sure - but I think the APN for certain carriers have to be changed.
Someone in the know will surely post :)
