Google Nexus 5

Installed 4.4.2 this morning. Not much difference over 4.4.1. Root still works (saved root using SuperSU paid-version).

Right to save me going back through 46 pages what is the best import path for this?

Purchase it directly from Google Play using a VPN, ship to a mail forwarder (Shipito or Postbox Courier) and Bob's your uncle. However, note that not all cards process, so YMMV.

Alternatively, you could get it from Amazon- more likely to have the purchase go through. Will cost slightly more, though.

I'm actually looking out for a nice deal on a Nexus7 2013 at the moment so I can try 4.4.2. I try Android devices periodically to see how the platform has evolved and if I can make the move and be satisfied.

Any idea what would be the cost variance between the two? Or what the final bill would come to either way? What did it cost you?

Wow, priced have really dropped on Amazon!

I would estimate about R1k difference, given that shipping would have to be via the same method.

The Nexus 5 32Gb cost me R5,324.00 from Amazon (cost $489.99, as I wanted the white one). I expect shipping to cost another R700 or so, as I have bundled this with a wireless charger and case. Unfortunately, Google refused to accept my credit card, and a virtual credit card added a similar cost to the purchase in any event.

And you won't pay any customs duty?

Cool. From my experience, 4.4 is outstanding and if you're used to the smoothness of the iOS UI, you will love it.
