Yes. It is available. 5.01 was released a while back but we are still waiting for 5.02. Cyanogenmod have released CM12 (5.02) for the Nexus 5 but it's still a Nightly build.

Odd. I'm on Kit Kat 4.4.4 and when I check for updates there is nothing available.

Try hard resetting it. For whatever reason, it seems as if the OTA update only kicks in after the reset.

That is pure taste. I use Nova (paid) because it is closest to stock, fast and functional. Just download whatever looks good and try it.

So I've been doing some searching and it seems Google have pulled OTA for Lollipop 5.0 due to some issues and complaints.
Those on 5.0 have received the 5.0.1 update to solve the major bugs.

I tried a bunch launchers & Nova seems to be clean & simple. I'll purchase a Google voucher at Pick n Pay to get the full version.
I would also like few more recommendations to my phone to a state I would be happy with. Could you please recommend some of the following apps.

- Notification light. I noticed when I get emails/missed calls there is notification light.
- Pull down menu: I would really like something that works in a similar fashion to the Samsung pull down menu: i.e Notifications & quick settings (I know about the double finger pull down but it still doesn't do it for me). Also, if it has the option to set screen rotation on & off.
-Notification bar.I would like to see if I'm connected to 3G, EDGE etc & battery status.
- SMS app. I'll give the Hangout app a go but last time I did everything was cluttered with hangout convos.
- Music app. Again, I've tried the Google music app before but it wasn't for me.

Guess these are the only things I need for I need at the moment.
Any other additions which you made please suggest as well.

Notification light - Light Flow/Light Manager
Pull Down Menu / Notification Bar - GMD Gesture Control / Tasker? / Xposed
SMS - I use Hangouts and its cool. Google just released a new messenger app didn't they?
Music app - Rocket Music Player

That's not true. My Nexus 5 was on 4.4 and I updated directly to 5.01. Did you reset your phone and try to update it again?

What do you mean closest to stock? This is Pure android on the N5, I don't understand what "stock" you making your phone look like. Confused.

Semantics... Closest to vanilla then.

Ok maybe I nitpicked that one.
but still ... why? The nexus 5 is vanilla. Thats the whole reason we buy it.
Why install a launcher to make it look like vanilla?!:confused:

I know we all have our tastes and Android is all for customization but you mention vanilla which the the Nexus 5.
Why Install a launcher to make your phone look like it already looks.

Unless you using a different theme then by all means go crazy.

Besides, Lollipop is sooo pretty

Nova has subtle little changes I like - functional changes, gestures and some other tweaks. It doesn't change the Lollipop look. So it's not about the look. Yes, lollipop is great and that's why I use Nova.
