while it's spec looks good, it looks like Google's designers have just designed an iPhone clone.

According to Carphone Warehouse’s intel, the Pixel is a 5-incher with a Full HD display, a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 processor and either 32GB or 128GB of storage, though we’re not convinced that this will be expandable through a microSD slot, as the retailer claims. It’s also expected to use a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera and a 2,770mAh battery.

The XL, meanwhile, will apparently feature a 5.5-inch QHD display and a 3,450mAh battery. Both handsets will likely feature 4GB of RAM, Android 7.1 Nougat and come with unlimited photo backups, at maximum resolution, through Google Photos.

The price of a flagship without all the features. Whatever happened

I just realised that even the home page wallpaper is a bit of a copy of the iPhone 7 wallpaper...

You've got info on pricing? I'm only seeing rumours.

Would be a shame if it is priced up against top tier Android phones or even worse, the iPhone.

Pixel what? There are plenty of Pixels on the cards, they can't just call it Pixel.

again: :wtf: they're all aerial photos, whats the big deal

I dunno, I just commented on the similarity between the wallpapers on the new Pixel and the new iPhone and backwardsboy jumped up and down and started arguing as he always seems to do when the iPhone is mentioned...

I don't see the similarity. The Pixel's wallpaper looks like a aerial photo of sea and islands and the iPhone 7 looks like a close-up photo of a waterfall. meh

Wondering what google magic could be.

One of their selling points is Google Photo backups? But all androids (and iPhones too I think) have access to Google Photos backup features....
