Currently have a 6p 64GB which was bought within a month of release- for R10k. Based on overseas pricing I think the Pixel XL is going to end up being in the region of 13 to 14k which is overkill for not much of an improvement.

I have the same phone and I must say I don't see massive reasons to upgrade. I would love to see/hold the Pixel though, I think I might go back to a 'small' phone.

Doubt it, never seen a Nexus phone available previously.

Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus were sold here but not marketed. Samsung motivated it to the networks.

In other news it looks like the North American spec Pixels meet all our band requirements, so that will be a small cost saving over the International version.

The North American version won't work with Telkom LTE [Band 40]

Front reminds me of iPhone. Backside bottom half, iPhone, top half is fugly. Google dropped the ball with regards to design on this one. They tried to make their own spin on a well established and loved Apple design, failed. Hope their next attempt is better. Had high hopes for this one. :(

It's an HTC design.
