How is it Google's fault? You telling me it is TomTom's fault if I drive my car off a cliff because my GPS told me to do so?

They don't deserve anything. If anything that pedestrian deserved to be hit by a car for not having any common sense.

Karma. They deserve it.

Google has been involved in many privacy violations from Germany to Japan. Heck with them. They collect the data, come up with a map (to sell ads) - let them get sued too. Take the good with the bad.
 
Its actually an issue... My dad owns a late 2009 Toyota Prado, which has a built in GPS system. We've been moaning like stuffed pigs about it, because we can't load any maps on it other than the Toyota ones, and Toyota doesn't sell maps for Mozambique etc. Now here is one of the best 4x4's available in the country, and you can't get maps for the navigation system that will take you to any out-of-the-way places. The solution: buy a R2000 Nuvi and stick it to the windscreen directly above the +/- R10 000 Toyota Navigation System.

My Sony Ericsson phone has a Google Maps app built in. But yet it still has a message warning me that google takes no responsibility bla bla bla...

I this a hoax? I mean, how does someone that stupid manage to get a route from Google Maps. In fact, this woman's guardian(s) should be sued for allowing her on the internet in the first place!

Moral of the story is never buy the top of the range model with all the trimmings. Buy the lower spec model and add your own trimmings + save a bundle.

Oh don't worry, the last thing we wanted was to buy the top of the range model (the VX). We wanted the GX, but in South Africa, you could only get the GX with the 3.0 KZ-TE diesel engine - not the new D4-D engine. Towing a heavy offroad trailer with a 12 year old engine (which has less power than that in the old Prado which we had) just doesnt make sense - hence we had to go for the 4.0 petrol engine - meaning we had to buy the VX. But this is getting seriously off-topic :wtf:
