Got the iMac

Where are you getting your Memory from? I want a 1GB chip for the macbook (making it 1.5Gb). How much will that coist approx? I know apple wanted mad money.

The Macs use normal sodimms - PC5300 DDR2 667mhz 200 pin notebook memory available at any supplier.

Did'nt you get this one?

* 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

* 1GB memory

* 120GB hard drive1

* Double-layer SuperDrive

You should have 1 GB of memory in it already.

The macbook uses 2 x 512MB sodimms - hence him getting a 1 x 1gb + an existing 512MB = 1.5 GB

@ that price I'd get two x1gb. I'm not sure if the MB still benefits from having a matched pair (it might well do considering that it is shipped that way) but you'll benefit from the extra 512.

Check Take2 for Patriot memory, I bought 3 gigs of it for my iMac a few weeks ago.

Why does Apple and all Apple Stores/websites charge in excess of R2000 if the cost price of the memory is R250 a module? Is that not a scary rip-off?

I've ordered 2 1GB Modules for my Macbook. I don't really need it, but I don't think you can go wrong with more memory...and for what it's costing, it's worth it. Should get it in Jan.
