Hey~

Was at the launch with my brother, it was awesome~
Waited for the launch till 12 o'clock, wasn't really a special launch, thought it would be something
like the CEO uncovering the iPhone 4, haha, but that wasn't the case, at 12am, everyone just opened their shop and then it was just a normal procedure for signing a contract.

At first we were unsure if they had the 32GB, because someone told us that they don't do 32GB model at the moment, so then we went to Vodashop and asked, they said they have the 32GB model, so we lined up and waited, after like 20-30minute, someone was available to help us, so then the signing of contract proceeded, just as we finished with the contract, this one guy at Vodashop came to the person who was helping us and told him the 32GB is out of stock, so then we told the person, ok it fine, we will take the 16GB then, so he teared up contracts and stuff and issued a new one, after signing the stuff, that dude came back and said yes there is stock, sigh, so we did the 32GB again and finally it done, we head to the place to pay for the phone and the admin fee, at the till, the lady went to this little window (where they ask the people inside to bring the phones out, yes this is the part I'm not happy about), and she requested for an iPhone 32GB, he shaked his head and said it out of stock, so then we asked the lady, what now? the contract is been processed and now we cant get the 32GB iPhone? So she then went to somewhere to ask about something and then she got back and went to the same window and then the guy gave her a 32GB iPhone, so we asked her, why did he say it was out of stock when there is stock available, she told us it RESERVED FOR SOMEONE...

Yeah, that is a bunch of B*LL SH*T, we were there since 9:30 and waited till 12 and we can't get the phone and the phone is reserved for someone that is not there?I thought it a first come first serve basis?Oh well, that just pissed me off... I really don't understand how can they have this kind of service attitude (Just a little complaint)

But at the end of the day, got the Black iPhone 32GB (was hoping for a white one though!)

Took some photos of it, you can have a look at my blog :D

Awesome! Got mine from Vodashop Sandton Square last night. Got there at 11pm, applied for the upgrade, waited until 12pm and got the phone. Was out of there by 12:05 :D

Great service from Vodashop Sandton Square!

:DYeah, the lady at the customer care part "reserved" me a 32GB from the Vodashop ... said it was the last one and sure as hell when I got to the Vodashop they also said "very last one"

Mine is waiting for me at the store...

Just trying to figure out if they can hold onto it for me until Sunday (earliest i can upgrade) or wether i will go in and take out a new contract and then save my upgrade for when the iPad comes :)

Awesome, that early!
we only got home at 1:45...lol! but it still worth it, got the phone :D

Got mine at Vodaworld Launch......Was done at around 12:05am as well......that was including SIM Swap......no problems on reception so far......

havent tested yet, waiting for the sim swap, will sure to post something when i find out :)

Sim swop? Just cut your sim smaller to micro sim size. That's what I did and it works like a charm.

As for reception issues, it's better than the HTC Touch Diamond I had. I haven't dropped a call yet. And the only way to get the reception bars to drop is to cover the entire phone with my hands, not just the antenna portion. And even with the entire phone covered I still get 1 bar inside our building (which has terrible signal by the way).

OK, so a few guys at work just drove to Vodaworld and came back with 4 16GB's, bought cash ... R6268 each. I've cut up their SIM's for them ... all fine.

DUDE.......Awesome.

Bit blind about the run-around they gave you, but at least they gave you the one you wanted in the end.

In the end the frustration will be worth the extra 16GB

Enjoy dude

That's the best cash price I've read/seen so far... Do you know how much the 32GB iPhone goes for? (cash/prepaid)

Nope, they wouldn't sell for cash last night ... and all the 32GB's we're sold out last night. When the okes phoned this morning they still had 40 16GB's left ... I'm pretty sure those are all gone now.

R6268 for the 16GB? Serious? Sounds like Vodacom might have woken up with the pricing a bit... ;)
