I highly doubt the GTA/Rockstar team will be affected by this. GTA is their biggest moneymaker by far, they're not gonna mess with that.

To make sure we don't get another Cyberpunk-like release? That plus they first want to milk GTAV dry.

At least the wait won't be as long as for Elder Scrolls 6. Or Half-Life 3.
 
They have to fire some people to make room in the budget for SweetBabyInc's consulting fees

I loved Vice City. I got it on a disc from a friend at University. Blew my mind to play my first genuine open-world game. I’ve played every one of the games since (not that there have even been so many lol).

They should take the money and the top notch exposure GTA6 will give them. Not to mention revenue from future sales and streams of a 40 year old song.

GTA6 will find another song and make billions any way.

Never even heard of them. Some spinoff of The Human League apparently.
A 3 minute song for $2500 per minute, not terrible given how many people will hear it and listen to it on Spotify/YT if they like it.

GTA 5 had 441 songs, assuming similar for GTA 6 even at $7500 that works out to $3.3m dollars. Not an insignificant amount.


Now if it was a famous song then it should be higher, like The Human League's "Don't you want me" or their vocalist's "Together in Electric Dreams".
