Grand Theft Auto 6

ST spammer with the x spam. Lekker bro. Now do the other threads

I don’t think it matters too much how much this game costs. We will still be buying it.
Been thinking about it and I won't go beyond $100.

I don't want them setting precedent for all the other greedy publishers to increase the prices of their games...

What ever price they end up charging, I'm pretty sceptical it would set a precedent. Games are highly fungible (with some exceptions), so GTA 6 selling for $105 doesn't mean [insert generic AAA game] would also sell for $105.

No but they might be tempted to raise it by $10-$20 when they see that people are willing to pay more for games. Do you think CoD players wouldn't pay more for their annual fix?

I will even pay 3k for it

Depends. What version are we talking about here? R3k is a bit steep for the base version. At that price one would expect some goodies. Tangible, non-sharkcard goodies.

Then, someone help me here. There is no new news on gta so I am keeping my mind busy with other related items. I'm new to buying xbox games outside of game pass. I am leaning going physical with GTA6.

I've never preordered or bought an xbox game day one, at retail in SA. Do we get midnight releases here? Btgames had a few midnight releases back in the stoneage. Koodoo claims they ship a day early so it arrives on release day, somehow doubting that. No idea how takealot deals with preorders.

Physical copies might include a map or extras, but you're still downloading many gigs from hammered servers come launch day. Digital guarantees instant access at release, and I assume we will have the option to preload with just a day-one patch to worry about.

Then there's early access. Have retail copies with early access ever been available locally? I know Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe edition had physical copies overseas with 3-day early pickup, did we get that here?
(Edit: I see with Outer Worlds 2 the shops do release the copies in line with the allowed for early access. I also see we are spoilt for choice when it comes to gaming stores too. Koodoo, game4u, btgames , such wow /s)

I could never understand why they don't allow downloading one day before launch and just lock it down so you can't play until release day, it would take a massive strain off of network infrastructure.

You could use steam cache but I don't know how effective that would be since that single machine would still be at the mercy of the internet connection it's attached to and everybody and their Mom is going to be downloading the game.

They can keep it at this point .... the delay just got tiring af

I see democrats are blaming Trump for the delay
