Count me... depressed. Has really bummed me out and put a damper on the excitement for me.
Some form of midnight release is something I genuinely looked forward to.. driving to the shop, the queue, the vibes, opening the box to find a disc (or three), with maybe a map(!) and a poster tucked inside. It sounds old-fashioned but it's part of the experience for me.
Instead the 'physical' version is just a download code in a box. No mention of anything more than cardboard. Which means there's genuinely no rush to pre-order for me. I could grab it digitally a few days before launch or from Bt games and still pre-load in time.
Such a shame. Felt like Rockstar of all studios might have done something special here.
I emailed BT Games and asked them to please send me pre-order information as soon as available, and they replied by asking me to check their website. Well done BT Games, guess I'm not bothering with them. If you are a games retailer and can't build a tiny bit of pre-order excitement for one of the biggest new games, then you deserve to close down innit. When and where was the last time you attended a midnight release?
Retail is dying out, 4 of the 5 BT Games branches across CPT closed and even in JHB my 3 local branches have all closed.
I see there's a Game 4 U near me but it's like a third of the size of the BT games from my teen years and if you stand looking at games you'd be ass-to-ass with a guy in the queue![]()
An extra R400 for the ultimate edition ... it's basically worth it.I am happy to have been wrong about the price. I thought it would have been more in ZAR. IMHO it is better to get the Premium edition. This game is cheaper in ZAR than some other upcoming XBOX games.

Our condolences
I mean it's in their company name. Take-two. They do this on purpose. Some PC players won’t want to wait, so they’ll buy the console version and then buy it again when the PC version comes out. Simple sales tactics.
This gets thrown around a lot but I don't think it's really true. The number of double dippers are not that big to make a meaningful difference.
You can go look at their financials, PC accounts for a mere 8% of their total revenue, they simply prioritise consoles.
Coke, pizza and leave locked in for 19 Nov? Lol.
Start adding funds so I can get: lords of fallen 2, mortal shell 2 and of course hell raiser. Better than waiting until day zero having to pay then and rationalizing 400 zar more is ok and new normI am not playing it until it arrives on PC. Until then I have better games to play.

Also Take Two games tend to better optimized once they hit PC. Think its more a case of focus on known specs before you target a wide range.
eg GTA5 could run and shine on a potato when it launched.
