Do you guys drink it and if so, what brand?

Also supposed to have brilliant medicinal qualities.

I drink a fair amount - about 4 cups a day - although it tastes like crap, it is strangely addictive - maybe the caffeine it contains.

I fully expect someone to post on here that it is a scam - like with my goji berry post :D

Where do you get yours from? The ones I have tasted aren't particularly good quality.

Not a scam, but definitely over-hyped :D

Green tea is high in fluoride (130-160 ppm). In drinking water, the maximum safe level of fluoride is considered to be 2-4 ppm. Fluoride can cause dental fluorosis (mottling of the teeth) and is implicated in a wide range of other disorders.

Both green and black tea have large amounts of caffeine, which signals the brain that you're not tired when in fact you are. In addition, too much tea (five cups) can cause restlessness, irritability, sleeplessness, and headaches. Caffeine also leaches calcium and threatens bone density, especially in women.

The tannins in both green and black tea reduce the digestibility of proteins.

Green and black tea also contain xanthine, a precursor to uric acid, which causes kidney stones and gout. They both also have theobromine, which is a diruetic, an arterial dilator, and a central nervous system stimulant.

Green tea, even when highly diluted, has triterpene saponins, which can dissolve red blood cells.

I drink the Lipton Green Ice Tea. Its tastes great.

since when does green tea have caffeine

when i get home im going to look what brand i bought and if it contains caffeine which i highly doubt

Well, it's been 10 months since my OP and I am still enjoying the benefits of green tea. I am still on about 5 cups a day.

I re-read texo's post and I do worry about all the side-effects, though.

Anyone knows if it is indeed more harmful than good?

You amaze me sometimes whaha

Why do you not buy the original chinese?

There must be a few different 'authentic chinese' brands, killa. I would not know which one to choose.

Also, I do not have any chinese shops close by (that i know of)!

I drink rooibos, it has more antioxidants than green tea and no caf.

But well done Blu i puke when i drink the green stuff.

I drink it everyday. I drink either the Eve's brand or go buy leaves from a Chinese store.
