I am in Savuti Sands. Remember, you have to give 30 days notice before Telkom will cancel your ADSL service. And because I was informed my line will be live on the 01.10 I have already given notice to cancel on the 01.09.

So, my cancellation is loaded and I will so far be without internet at home for 4 days before the contractor hands the complex over to Greencom. And then I also do not know how long it will take after that before I can even start using the service. I am stressing a little here as my wife works a lot from home.

I am sure you have watched the rollout creep slowly towards your home and the super news is we are at your door. Attached please find our invoice for the installation fee, payment of which will mean you will be confirmed for installation."

Quick question about Keswick, any idea when installation will start? It seems the guys are done with the connector boxes in the ground.
 
Also currently at Shimbali Sands, paid the installation fees and now just waiting patiently ... okay maybe not too patiently :p

I paid my deposit on the 16th of August, still awaiting installation. I need to find this thing you call "patience" :p
 
The build is still in progress. It has the problem of conduits being daisy chained rather than direct, so getting the fibre into all the units is a bit of a challenge.
 
Lucky you guys still have internet. This is the 2nd day that I am sitting without internet at home.

So frustrating, really.

I told Telkom to keep my dsl active for this month. Can't not have internet at home! :\

This is why I asked on MANY occasions if my fibre would be up and running by the first. :/

Now nobody can tell me when the complex's core feed will be ready for handover..... FML
 
Any update on when the core feed will be ready for Savuti Sands? I saw the guy with a box and it looked like he was connecting all the units to it.

Saw the guys at Shimbali were doing the same yesterday. Heads down the manholes
 
I HATE being without WiFi... Feels like I am walking around naked. :/ Something is missing in my life. I hope they get Savuti connected soon as my data costs are rocketing. :(
