Hi Guys

We are just in the process of signing off the display boards with the SRA these will be up soon in Sunninghill and will create much more interest in the project .

Do you perhaps have a rollout plan that you can share with us? I know for example Fibrehoods in Craighall Park have a 2week range as to when the fibre will be in their road

Hi Guys.

This particular project is well under way and we have been in contact with over 50 complexes and have completed surveys in many of them. I am glad to say that the 1st complex that has hit the required uptake is Hampton Court and we will be installing towards the end of April . Our poster board advertising will be in place next week and this should boost the uptake figures and i will keep you informed when each complex hits critical mass and when we will start the install .

Please be sure to register your interest on www.sunninghillfibre.co.za and www.bbqdownsfibre.co.za

New clients are being connected every day , here is a quote from a post in the Glenferness residents association .

" we logged on to the fibre optic cable system last night for the first time -- very simple and easy process for even a non-tech-savvy person and oh so fast a connection compared to the lamentable 3G connection we've had to endure until now. So if you've been wondering, then wonder no more, its worth it! "

I first contacted Greencom at the end of December last year, took a while for them to get back to me (or rather me trying again a couple of time) but eventually signed up and paid deposit on the 7th of January. I'm in Glenferness and I still am not connected.

Eventually the line was installed and a while after that the splicing had been done. A week after that a second "splicing" was scheduled due to some administrative confusion, I tried to explain that it had already been done, but no one seemed to listen. Net result, I'm still sitting around and waiting for this ftth to appear. I see the facebook page says its live in Glenferness, but I beg to differ.

While I'm glad my hopes are no longer being dashed by promises that I'll be connected by the end of the week, early next week, next month, ect. I'd really appreciate some sort of feedback or actually explanation as to why there is such a delay (and what is being done about it).

Hi Trowalts ,

I have PM'd you in private and when i receive your client details i will 'make sure you get connected' and will gladly give the the explanation of the delay.

I got in contact with Paul, later the day after his message. He helped to get me sorted out and the next day I was connected. Thanks Paul, you were really helpfull and great to deal with!

I'm on the 25mb uncapped package and it really is fantastic.

I just wish there was a way to speed things up.

I recently learned that our Telkom Line has a significant amount of interference and as such services like VOIP is useless with about 80% packet loss on both TeamSpeak as well as Ventrilo. They have also been promising for weeks to send a technician to fix it but alas...

My point is, the faster I can give Telkom back their overpriced and under delivering rubbish, the happier person I will be

We are starting the Sunninghill complex roll out in this month , starting with Hampton Court .

Hi Five Claw

I know your complex somewhere on corner of Tana Rd but if you let me know the complex name ill tel you when we starting with you

Hi Paul

I know I have asked before, but any news on servicing The Kanyin?
Thanks

Hi Marnuse

We are indeed going to service The Kanyin and surrounding complexes, we are busy with the wayleaves from Tana Rd to Airdlin Rd, so realistically we are still a few months away.

One of the complexes opposite you has already hit minimum uptake requirement . As The Kanyin is a large complex, around 500 units off the top of my head, please ask as many people as you can to go to www.greencom.co.za and register on the Sunninghill link so we can hit critical mass by you long before the the backbone fibre is installed.

Hi Paul

Thanks, that is great news apart from the "...few months away." But I understand the time required for all this to take place. I will once again attempt to persuade our body corporate to act, as they have been extremely lax in this regard. I guess not everyone values communication and quality connectivity as much as I do ;)

When will we have some fibre in sunninghill Gardens ? Surely its also quite high up :-)
