Grocery Specials Thread

quality milk = anything that we can drink :)

that white bread at picknpay is quite cheap!

good info.

Saw some decent prices at Woolies today...

Big bag of carrots for R8 and 2 x 450g mushrooms for R20

checkers hyper is saving all of us 500 billion in gold, so you can get bath oil for 19.99, I usually buy mine at clicks but they bumped the price by about R5 when i went this saturday, i'm gonna make a spreadsheet to calculate an optimal shopping strategy that factors in petrol money spent and money saved

Not a lot of bargains of late. Prices seem to just be going up every week. :(

Hope the Competition Commission rips them all a new one.

Paid R10 for a damn loaf of bread the other day.

Some guy wrote a very good letter in the Argus tonight about how supermarkets keep changing prices so we don't know what they should be.

Once you start trying other things and looking out, there are quite a lot of savings to be made. E.g. I cook a lot of Indian food, so often buy basmati rice. It is very expensive compared to 'normal' rice - about double the price, so to save one can simply switch to the normal rice.

Not really a grocery special, but its still food related.

You can get up to R60 off your meal at certain restaurants at greenstone mall in edenvale.

Adega - R60 off if you spend R200 or more
Spur, Mugg and bean, dulce cafe, watami, simply fish - R50 off if you spend R200 or more

there are more, but too many too list.

You do however have to request it, and you just need to pick up the "food passport" from information.
