Guild Screwed you over

Been in the guild 3 weeks longer and they promoted her to officer and I got rank of Veteran same privledges as the rank I was in except can take things out of the guild bank now wow, but just shows u been there for a long time so what has actually changed just the rank name and she did nothing diffrent to what I did always there for raids, etc

If all you wanted is recognition, being Veteran is just that. A simple "thank you" is recognition you did something right. Wanting to have a say giving your opinion and the officers going, hmm lets consider it and give feedback to you on what and why they have chosen.

Perhaps "she" offered to do something that needs her to have the officer rank so that people will listen or see that she is in a position to do whatever she was is going to do. Why don't you chat to her and other officers and find out?

I for one give good enough recognition where it is due, and I am on casual rank in my guild. Mostly because I chose that, and don't need a rank to feel recognized. Perhaps your guild need to make a new rank called "Special" and only you get that rank.

End of the day if you're unhappy, leave.

Thanx guys for your comments in the end it came down to her manipulating her way to the top.

sort thing happend to me also, the raid officer start likeing the one chic and picked her for every raid (i was still picked also) put i could not roll the xt 10 hard sword because he sed it was dps only wep >.< But ofc it never dropped before anyway :P

I have seen instances where boobs have bested brains but the fact that you listed being in the guild three weeks longer as a boon to your officer candidacy doesn't really give me much faith that you should be one. Some people in my guild, including myself, have been members for years longer than some of the officers. This has absolutely no relevance on their legitimacy, they are just simply better suited and willing to perform the job.

Being an officer is about serving the guild not some status symbol or a tool to impose your will on others. Complaining and being sour that you weren't made officer is just another example of why you probably shouldn't be one.

PS. The sexist remarks in this thread are quiet saddening and no doubt one of the many reasons there aren't more female gamers.

I am not saying I want to be an officer. Its the way that things were done in the guild that I am complaining about and not just me many others.

I read your first post as saying you were cross that they picked who brown nosed when you have been in the guild for ages and done everything for them. That usually implies you wanted to be an officer.

Anyway as per above - officer choice is based on a lot of things - if you're really unhappy about the decision I'd suggest going directly to your GM and asking him about it rather then asking for sympathy here. If you still don't like his decision after he explains it to you then gquit and find a guild where you agree with the leadership.

think the real question is, is she doing her job as a officer ? If the answer is yes then wtf is all the bitchin about?

I dont get how you get this:
So your generalisin that all male gamers are sexist?

He/she didnt say all males are sexist?

Then rally the troups and demand answers. They can't smell what's going on you know. I said it before and will say again. Ask why you weren't chosen to be an officer. At least then you could maybe stop complaining.

Was an officer in a top100 guild during TBC and I must tell you there's nothing fun about it at all, just massive responsibility and constant whining from members, you can never keep everyone happy at once. Be glad you're not one tbh ;D

Didnt say from some of the post. Just the post here meaning all the posts aka all the males

The only person generalising here is you, I merely stated my dismay at the earlier sexist comments and that sexism is one of the reasons we don't see more female gamers.

If you want to then expand comments on this thread to represent all males, well then that is on you and no-one else.

Read her post again. The quote underneath this line im typing now. (trying to make it very easy and clear to see because youre seeing and reading what you want it seems)

This means, not ALL the posts, just the sexist remarks. If she said "the posts in this thread are quite saddening..." Then i would have understood if you misunderstood. But really now...

Officers get 1st choice on loot?

That's a recipe for fail. Cause a breakaway guild and leave the officers to run together by themselves and have all the loot they can shake a stick at.

Fixed. :D

I dont think many people realise just how much being a GM / officer / raid leader takes out of you... You have to keep other people happy, police current members, and at the same time ensure your raiding force stays in tact.

QFT done it for a few years now, resigned as GM the other day, best move ever, I just yell at people in raids, is v/therapeutic :P
