Guild Screwed you over

Was an officer in a top100 guild during TBC and I must tell you there's nothing fun about it at all, just massive responsibility and constant whining from members, you can never keep everyone happy at once. Be glad you're not one tbh ;D

True. I've been an Officer in 2 guilds...after I left first guild (disband) I said NEVER AGAIN! New guild I get promoted to Officer after a few months >.<

The problem is that even being in the guild the 3rd longest I have no say to anything in the guild nor can I even get into the guild bank to get items enchanted have to beg an officer to give them to me and then still get a 2 hour long questioning session to y u need it and what u need it for etc...

Thanks why getting into a raiding guild that gives raiders mats for enchanting and gemming for free is awesome. Also if you forgot too get flasks they give you some ;)

Greedy guilds = crap I would leave but thats just me

Our guild gives out pots and flasks for free in 25 mans, I think anything in the guild bank can be bought for half price.

Y dont u get a system where its open to all members except trialists and if u abuse the service its taken away from u?

Heres how ours work

We have a withdraw rank. So If you want something from Gbank you wisper a officer. He changes ur rank too withdraw. You get the stuff you need. You tell him your done and he changes u back too your raider rank etc.

That way abuse is controlled.

Also setting reduced prices on items like flasks etc is a nice way too help out your raiders. Guilds make farklaods of gold with selling Crafting patterns etc.

That can work but still u have to go through an officer which defeats the purpose

Just like you have too go too the bank in real life for some transactions etc.

Having been an officer of the same guild since before World of Warcraft (multiple game guild), I have really no idea what you are on about. Find a mature guild if that is what your looking for, but do realize that most people there will be as boring as me ;)
People in the setup I am in are promoted to an officer position based on what value they can bring to the guild:
raid leader (like myself) need to know the ins and outs of raiding and keep raiders happy;
recruitment officer(s) need to have a very good idea of what type of people will fit in the guild, and have very good people skills
guild master, the manager that need to give some direction for the guild and make sure the officers do their job

Then you can also get some officers just to sort out day to day problems in the guild, banking officers taking care of the guild vault, etc.

All of the above does not imply that you need to be in the guild for longer than another person, but you need to have the right skills for the job.

The type of guilds you find by people randomly inviting you and promoting you to an officer just so that you can recruit some more people randomly just is not my style...
Having had your own guild of 150+ members and leaving them or the guild disbanding with you does not bode well for your officer skills?

If things ran like that in this guild I would agree fully with you werries but mainly new officers are their RL friends or some ppl that dont have any skill in leading or being an officer that have suckered there way up there. My guild is far from mature is run by a 19 year old now the original GM left due to, to much crap in the guild. The problem is if I leave I have to work my way up again in another guild just dont have the energy for that.

Look for a guild that only takes "mature" players. Clearly you will not be happy in this guild. Working your way up again in a mature guild is not hard.

Ever thought of starting your own guild ? That way you are at the top from day 1.

LOL Im so glad i quit mmo`s .
The next game i will play will be diablo 3 until then im giving online gaming a pass.
Having to bargain on other people to progress just somehow lost its appeal after several years of "DONT STAND IN THE FIRE !!!!"
